Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is a natural wonder on 270 acres of shorefront in mid-coast Maine. Strolling through spectacular ornamental gardens and traversing miles of waterfront and woodland trails, visitors are delighted by the beautiful plantings, impressive stonework, waterfalls and fountains, and scenic views. It's no wonder the Gardens have been hailed as one of Maine's top three attractions. The Gardens are open 9-5 April 15 - October 31 (open until 6 pm in July and August). There is a cafe and gift shop on site. A visit at any time is a memorable experience.

Beautiful in October!

We had heard about the botanical gardens in Boothbay many times--I'm so glad we took the time to finally visit. We weren't sure if there would be anything to see in the fall. It was wonderful! The foliage was beautiful, and the gardens were decorated with over 700 pumpkins! You couldn't help but smile at the arrangements and colors. The... More

My partner and I visited the Botanical Gardens in late October 2015. They were not many flowers or plants in bloom but it was a great experience to walk around and see some foliage. The treehouse was cool and the children's area was cute. We spent about two hours walking around the main hub of the garden; we didn't have... More

There is no review that can do justice to this place. It is incredible! The beauty of the gardens is matched by the dedication of its staff. If you are in New England, this is an absolute must.

We live in the area but this location is wonderful year round for the family. We take visitors to experience the best of Maine and we have never been disappointed. There is a great lunch facility on the premise. Walking is involved but there is cart transportation for those who do walk great distances.

We live in England and are used to the formality of the RHS garden at Wisley and, having visited Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, we think that Wisley could learn one heck of a lot from this brilliant place. We found the layout of the more formal parts to be a delight, from the 3 whales water feature to the arch... More

If you like plants this is a must-see. The setting on the bay is beautiful. There are various kinds of gardens and the plants are labeled. There was an exhibit of outdoor mobiles beautifully situated among the plants. I came home with lots of ideas! You can eat lunch at the restaurant which looks out at the gardens. The food... More

What a wonderful place. We visited on a lovely fall day in October. It's very well done with an eye to details. Wooden bridges, sculptures, statues and more. We saw Interesting plants and even some brightly colored flowers ,despite the season. We walked quite a bit but also took advantage of the $10 tram ride. Reservations are required ahead of... More

This was our third visit to the botanical gardens and I'd recommend it to everyone traveling to the Boothbay Region. We spent the better part of the day here and enjoyed a gorgeous Fall day. Although the leaves were past peak there was still plenty of color to be seen. And, along the drive from the road to the parking... More

This is just a little piece of paradise. Our favorite activity of our seven days in Maine. Everywhere you turn, there is eye candy. It's beautifully maintained, with little niches of specialty themes and some magnificent sculpture. DO NOT MISS this.

Although we visited in the fall, this was still a great place to see all the beauty that nature provides us. We visited on a Wednesday afternoon and the lack of people made it a very enjoyable visit. DO NOT MISS this if you are in the area.
