Kids loved the river below the bridge and played a long time. They were amazed with the wooden peg construction and the fact that it was covered.

Picturesque bridge although weathered after almost 150 years. west end shows erection date. You can walk across it and look out over the Sunday River. Only unfortunate thing is that people have spray-painted things on the inside of the bridge.

Quiet get-away spot. Walk down to the creek and enjoy the sounds of the water rolling by. People before us had stacked several rocks up into unique statues.

The covered bridge is in good condition, but is no longer used. The new bridge runs beside it. If you are a collector of covered bridge snapshots, this is worth going to.

We decided to stop in Bethel just so we could enjoy visiting a covered bridge. This did not disappoint. It looks like what I pictured old covered bridges to be, and walking across it made me think about how many horse and buggys traveled across it. It is very old, I believe from the 1800's. The kids enjoyed looking out... More

Visited 5 covered bridges in the area in one day and this one did not disappoint. Lovely setting and nice bridge! Interesting how some of the bridges seem very sturdy and yet prohibit vehicular traffic!

Definitely make time to stop by this bridge. It was a beautiful day in late May 2016 when we traveled and we got out and walked down by the water on both sides and looked up at the bridge. Pictures came out nice!

Be careful if you try to get a shot from below the bridge, the rocks are a little slippery. You can't get on the bridge, but you can get some nice pictures of it.

This non-traffic bridge is perfect for taking pictures. It's easy to find and has a small parking lot.

We were on a 7-day vacation through New England. We had to alter some plans due to weather and ended up at Mount Washington earlier than expected. That gave us an afternoon to kill in Gorham, New Hampshire. We had wanted to swing over to Maine just to say we'd been to Maine but the weather had deterred our plans... More
