The Light house is a must stop when on Swans Island. You have great views, and a nice little hiking trial at you disposal. There is parking and a bathroom.

Swans Island may not be everyones "cup of tea", but it suits us just fine. The simplicity of life there and the absence of traditional touristy attractions are just what is needed for a truly relaxing and rejuvenating vacation. Walt the many miles of trails...More

If you love lighthouses, don't miss this one. The purpose of all our beacons has saved many mariners and all deserve a token of respect.

Enjoyed the ferry over to Swans Island as a day trip while we were staying in Bass Harbor. The boat ride took an enjoyable half hour to make the crossing and it was interesting to see Acadia National Park from the water. Swans Island is...More

I loved the ferry ride over from Bass Harbor (inhale the beach roses -- aka the rosa rugosa by the ferry terminal) to Swan's Island. It took about 40 minutes. You really get a feel for the classic rugged beauty of this part of Maine...More
