What a fascinating little store. Tons of rocks but also jewelry, cards, lotions, plants, etc. There is even a little art gallery. You could spend a long time in here.

We love local artists and quirky goods - our place is filled with all kinds of weird and unique goods. We looked in stores in Bangor, Bar Harbor, Portland and every small town in-between. At the end of our trip, we said, "Damn it! We should have bought all that stuff we liked at the Rock and Art Shop!" We figured we'd find cooler stuff, but we didn't.

HUGE variety of air plants, quirky small garden stuff, tons of unique paper goods, some amazing home goods, and even weird animal skeletons and such. We even checked the one out in Bar Harbor - no where near as good.

Check this shop out if you're in Bangor - it's right across from Friar's Bakehouse, a delicious place to eat. Make a lunch of it!

Shopping at the Art and Rock Shop is a relaxing and unique experience. The openness and grand array make this feel more like you're visiting a museum than shopping. The atmosphere is relaxed with no pressure to buy, and a sense of being invited to browse leisurely and enjoy the random, quirky and beautiful finds this family of Maine locals has lovingly displayed for your enjoyment.

I will admit that the skeletons and animal display in the back is a bit odd, but it somehow adds to the appeal of the experience. Where else in the world could you possibly purchase beautiful jewelry, unique housewares, a goofy card and a stuffed duckling all in one place? I'm not sure that all those things would appeal to the same person, but I'm confident that if you're shopping for a unique gift that you'll find something for almost anybody here.

Even if you don't find that perfect gift, you won't regret stopping in to experience this unique spot in downtown Bangor.

This is a mighty fine browsing shop. Wide variety of items and products. Great fun. From art to plants to cards, to cutlery --- good gift-shopping, for sure.

I walked into this really cute intersting shop and was pleasantly surprised. It has many very unusual things—a little expensive but one of a kind.
I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.

The selection of gifts and rocks are amazing if you had $1000 to spend, ... but we did not. They have a selection of bugs, dried out bats, rocks, jewelry, books, and a bunch of other stuff. Everything is just so pricey here. Just to give you an idea, they sold many large rock or metal spheres for $150 or more. Even the small polished rocks were $3-$10. Like I said, if I had the money, I would love to spend it here as my little daughter loves rocks and geodes.

When you go into this shop who knows what great things you will find! They have so many great pieces of jewelry, this time I picked up a pair of earrings made out of beetle wings and a silver ring that was made up in Old Town, Maine. They also have a ton of Rifle Paper Co products and a large variety of cards. Stop in if you have time and if you join their email list you will get updates on new art that they get in!

My wife told me about this store so we went there one day. We spent about an hour just taking our time just looking at the rock, wood, shell and metal art. The talent that was displayed was impressive. If you are looking for just a special rock, they may have it. I was not expecting to see this type of store in downtown Bangor Maine, however I am glad it is here. We have returned to check out the store a few times. There are two other rock shop locations. One is on Verona Island and the other is on Route 1 going to Ellsworth. Both are small yellow buildings.
