This was my second or third trip to this museum with my grandson. Interestingly, it claims to be the largest children's museum north of Boston. We were there on a Saturday afternoon. My overall impression is that the museum could use some maintenance and perhaps...More

This is an ok attraction to keep children busy for an hour or so. Some of the interaction buttons to the exhibits were inoperable. Air conditioning worked minimally. Our 7 yr. Old granddaughter still had fun!

Three floors of great activities and things to explore for children. The gift shop has lots of great items and being downtown means you can make a "day" of it with lunch out!

Maine Discovery Museum great for young kids on a rainy day!! (0 Replies)
Just got back from a week in Bar Harbor. On Sunday, the weather was terrible..so we piled in the car (kids ages 2, 6 and 7 1/2) and went to the Maine Discovery Museum in Bangor. THE KIDS LOVED IT!! Warning it takes over an hour to get there but was time well spent. We dragged the kids out after three hours of running around and playing. We had lunch down the street at a fun Irish Pub - don't recall the name.
