We rented a car and drove out to Westwego on our own. Not a far drive at all. Capt James was waiting for us. We enjoyed seeing the small alligators and birds and hearing about life in the bayou.

We used a groupon, so we got a great deal! The Captain was very knowledgable of the Bayou and the animals around it! We had a great time!

Captain Bishop gives a fun and humorous commentary. Right down to showing us a refridgergator - very cool. Trip exceeded my expectations for observing alligators and interesting birds and swamp landscapes. Capt Bishop is local, knowledgable, fun and generous with going a little further up the bayou. Even the 45 minute bus drive to get to the swamp was interesting.

Well worth the trip and money!!!!! My husband and I had the best time. Our captain had a great story to tell and weaved it seamlessly through the tour. It included bits of history, bits of storm history, family ties and nature tales. Tours go out three times daily, it is so close to the city you will be amazed.... More

The skipper was incredible and very knowledgable. The boat was comfortable and had a covering and we were totally protected by the sun. I totally recommend this excursion!

The captain was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour seemed to go by very fast. The covering over the boat really helped to shield the sun and keep it cool and breezy on the boat. The captain did his best to try to find where all the critters were. We did see lots of gators, although we didn't get to... More

Capt. James was great but it rained so we paid lots and saw little. I would recommend doing this if you have good weather and transportation. They sent a taxi to get us and we had to pay $20 per person to get there...

The folks that run this adventure are very knowledgable about the swamp. We booked this tour with them as an add-on to our plantation tour. We were herded on to a boat, with lots of others and we were off. We only saw a few baby gators, which they fed marshmallows to. Wild life was in short order, the boat... More
