If you keep the ball in play, the course is very fair. However, you will be penalized with an errant shot as you should be on most of the holes. They are rapidly clearing lots for homes and the future for this course is bright. Bring a few extra balls just in case you are having a bad day. I assure you that you will come back and play it again after your first trip. Highly recommended!

Very nice golf course for the Westlake area. Very challenging and long. It requires a very accurate shot coming in to the greens. Well maintained and fair price for greens fees. Awesome staff for a tournament as well.

Championship course, but shows a little wear and tear from this years extreme weather. #2 and #17 were getting repairs, but were playable. Gas carts were a little rough. Most greens were fast, but a couple were spotty. Staff was friendly and course was not crowded during the week.

Not used to brown fairways but in the winter that is the way it is. Loved the new gas golf carts with pod chargers.
The worst club house I have ever encountered. Rest rooms in need of cleaning. The focet came apart when I tried to wash my hands.
It would have been nice if there was a place to properly clean all the mud off everything.

This course is in my opinion the most challenging test in this area. It has fairway and green bunkers and plenty of water to penalize stray shot. It is fair unless you hit a really bad shot. The greens are getting back in a condition that makes putting fun and a challenge. I highly recommend you play this course if visiting Lake Charles. The green fees are very reasonable.

We absolutely loved this course. When we couldn't get an early morning Tee Time at our Hotel/Casino Course, friends suggested this one and we were so glad they did! It was a fabulous course, and it cost about one third of the big casino courses in the area.

I have lived here all off my life and have played all of the local golf courses with the exception of the Golden Nugget course. The course is not in the condition it was the first few years but it is in good shape. They have done work on the greens and got them back. The rates are very reasonable and the staff is helpful. There is plenty of water and sand to challenge golfers of all levels. If you travel to this area, you need to play this course.

Had to play here for work. Although it needed a little more grooming, it's a nice course. The staff is super nice. I will play again

Of all of the courses I played in 3 months in Louisiana, this was by far the best golf for the price. It is very challenging from any of the 6 sets of tees. From the tips it plays 6950 yds. The staff here is great. Dave Kasper, Head Pro, is readily available and while the clubhouse is not opulent, I don't come to a golf course for the clubhouse, I come for the golf and this course doesn't disappoint. It starts with a modest par 5 skirting water on both sides. There is plenty of water on this course which I very much enjoy. A must play when in Lake Charles area of Louisiana.
