This is the site of a Confederate fort built at a crossing of the Sabine river between Texas and Louisiana. It suffered recently from flooding and during our visit there was evidence that the cleanup has not been completed but there are plenty of outdoor playground equipment for the youngsters and a boat launch for Sportsman which are definitely back to use. There are a few Confederate related items and a place to park RVs as well as tent camping. Be careful of mosquitoes and stay hydrated.

Nice RV Park with full hookups for RVs, tent sites, and cabins to rent. There are also 2 boat launch ramps and several covered pavilions for rent, one large open pavilion with bandstand, picnic tables and BBQ grillls and a large building for events

We frequently visit the Park for a peaceful getaway. We sit and watch the Sabine River flow pass. We have attended events at the pavilion and met with family friends.

We have stayed in one of the cabins, during the week, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. We have also walked around the park and took in the scenery and the wildlife.

Years ago, we spent a weekend in our RV and enjoyed the
RV park.

This is a small park but it is right on the bayou, with place to camp, picnic and relax. There is a small snack shop, and playgrounds. We have camped here several times with the Boy Scouts and love to go now for a picnic.
