Oak Alley Plantation and Large Airboat Swamp Tour from New Orleans

58 reviews
Save time and money by combining a swamp tour with a visit to Oak Alley Plantation on this full-day tour from New Orleans. First visit Oak Alley Plantation where a costumed guide shows you around the antebellum mansion. You can purchase lunch at the on-site restaurant before heading to the dock. Skim across the swamp by airboat with a captain who points out alligators and other wildlife before the return trip to New Orleans.

I'm beginning to think the plantation owners get together to develop their tour stories as no two are alike. This tour focused on the family and fights for controlling interest in the business. Some very strong women at the center of the saga. The tour guide was great.

Very interesting tour of the main house grounds and out buildings. The house being a creole style had a lot of interesting differences from the other plantation homes. Michael did a great job explaining about the plantations work and its history.

This was my favorite tour we did in New Orleans. This was full of history but also the personal stories of the people who lived there. Logan was a great tour guide!

This is a wonderful tour as you can tell by all the positive reviews. What I want to add is: BUY LAURA’S BOOK! It is so well done for a personal memoir and reading it will greatly enhance your experience.

This is my second time visiting Laura and there is just something so alluring about this place. It’s charming views and eye opening history is something you have to experience yourself to appreciate. Our tour guide was fantastic and knowledgeable, it’s def a must do if you’re visiting Louisiana. If you want a pretty view, go to Oak Alley. If you want history and an idea of true plantation life, go to Laura.
