My wife and I loved this place. The oak trees have large branches near the floor that allow you to take great pictures of your family while they are sitting. Your children will love to run around the brick walkway. This will be one of...More

We drove to the plantation on our way from NOLA to Texas, which was just over an hour or so out. We had decided to visit this plantation mostly for the oak trees, however there are so many along 'plantation alley'. Although our visit was...More

The staff, restaurant, gift shop, cabins and tours are fabulous! We are on our second visit but only our first cabin stay. I cannot describe the wonder and beauty of the plantation. They share the histories on the tours, not only of the owners of...More

Very impressed at how well they were able to restore the plantation to its original glory.very sad state of affairs that permitted the institution of slavery. Reconstructed slave quarters were very humbling. Interesting commentary by the guide

This was a guided plantation tour that was very informational and beautiful setting. The history was great to know more about the area, home and the people were very kind.

I have visited Oak Alley several times. But never took the tour. Glad I did this time. They have changed things up over the years. Used to be able to walk the grounds, but now you need to buy a ticket. Fair enough, the upkeep...More

The tour that we went on here was absolutely deplorable. The tour that we went on was extremely racist and obscenely offensive. The tour script romanticized slavery and there was absolutely no respect whatsoever for the atrocities that occurred on the plantation. My friends and...More

This plantation and its grounds are truly lovely, the gardens and grounds especially. Tour was pretty generic and non-informative, slavery just glassed over. If you can only see one plantation during you visit, this isn't it. But, for beauty and photo opportunities, it is good....More

This was our second visit to Oak Alley Plantation. There are extensive grounds, so you need quite a long time to see it all. However, a guided and interesting tour of the house is available, and the local history of the slaves who worked and...More

The Whitney plantation! Hands down the most informational. It’s more of a museum and than a historical tour within credibly knowledgeable guides.
