Cabin 9 fit our needs for a wonderful holiday weekend. 1 queen bed and 2 bunks (5 adult family members). Great screened in back porch. Grill & picnic table in the backyard with plenty of space for a few competitive games of Ladderball. The boardwalk...More

The park is beautiful. The people that run it are obnoxious and rude. They completely ruined my camping experience! The girl at the front gate was extremely impolite! They didn't seem to care about the visitors at all! You ask a question, she rolls her...More

We have been traveling around the United States in our Class A Motorhome with our motorcycle in an enclosed trailer behind us. A lady we met in Florida highly recommended Tickfaw State Park. We pulled up to the check in and much to my surprise...More

This park was a joy to visit. The comfort station was very clean and had a nice but small laundry facility. There was no trash laying around. There were multiple trash receptacles placed along the roads in the camp area. The road was paved as...More

As far as I could tell, not much here to see or do. But I will give it an A+ for its bathhouses (very clean and roomy), and an A+ for its nature center. The latter was one of the finest I've ever seen (plan...More

This was our first trip with our new camper. We stayed the weekend and had a lot of fun relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. The splash pad was excellent for our 1 year old and the nature center and boardwalks were great for my husband...More

Driving through the sketchy neighborhoods consisting of abandoned and falling-over homes and overgrown yards leading up to Tickfaw State Park made me seriously question if this camping experience was going to be safe and worthwhile. After seeing the well-maintained grounds inside of this state park,...More

We stopped in for a walk. Lovely trails. Beautiful views of tree elbows sticking out from the swamp. Saw a beaver and some other wildlife.

Tucked a bit out of the way, we drove 10+ miles to get to a decent sized town for groceries and general errands while out on the road. However, the nicely wooded sites and picnic pads with fire rings, made this RV camp site alright....More

I took my younger son, and we hiked on several of the trails. The trails are more like walking in the woods than hiking. The river trail is flat and easy. The raised walkways are well maintained and provide a great way to observe your...More

Quiet and secluded, nice walking with not much traffic. Dog friendly but must be leashed. Decks in excellent condition. One hour away from home, so we visit a lot.

I love to hike, and I love Louisiana. So I was saddened today to see the terrible condition this state park is in. Heaps of trash are washed up all along the river bank. The camping areas remain closed following the devastating flood in August...More

Yes, on leash or in kneeels, in the camping areas, but NOT in the cabins. We were staying in a cabin & some friends who were camping came by to view our cabin. They had their dog with them and the cleaning lady reminded us... More
