The attractiveness of this museum is in the artwork that is used to tell the story. The story, while certainly true to its points, does not address a good amount of the negative results of importing a people and forcing them into slave labor. Most...More

Local artist and city councilman, Denis Williams has beautiful artwork on display here. The museum sits along the Bayou Teche and is between the Acadian Memorial and the historic Evangeline Oak.

Our admission to the Acadian Museum included admission to the African American Museum. Not sure if we would have visited it otherwise. Well worth the visit and glad that it was part of the other museum admission.
