Picturesque Church and Cemetery
May 2021
Certainly worth a stop. The church was closed but it was well worth a walk around the church and cemetery. Fireflies were abundant. Very nice.

While visiting St Francisville We stopped in and strolled around the grounds. The old graves show so much history. Really enjoyed the beauty of the old live oaks throughout.

Wandering the cemetary is a full louisiana history lesson. The monuments and toomstones all have a story. this is a James Audubon area and so historical. Enjoy a great meal at the Magnolia cafe after your adventure. Then visit Cat Island and Angola prison museum

One of the state's oldest surviving Protestant churches.
Nov 2019
Grace Episcopal Church, built in 1860 and rebuilt in 1893 after the Union caused heavy damage in 1863, is one of the state's oldest surviving Protestant churches. Great Oak trees, dripping with Spanish moss, surround and provide shade to the church and its grounds. The organ inside dates to 1860 and there are lovely stained glass windows.

Peeked our heads in to see the beautiful interiors and the roamed about the graveyard inspecting the gravestones and noting who’s who from the local. The giant Oakes are worth the stop.

Beautiful place to visit!

My wife and I stopped here just to stretch our legs when on our road trip of the Deep South. We were driving south out of Natchez to Lafayette and this proved a beautiful place to stop to take in the church and the delightful and beautiful little town of Saint Francisville!

Stunning
Mar 2019 • Friends
The church is lovely and peaceful. I would have liked to be in the church when the pipe organ was played. The cemetery is extraordinary in its simplicity and beauty. The history that you can learn from the walking through the cemetery is interesting. It would help to have someone with you who knows the history of the area. We did. It might help to read up on the past history of St. Francisville to get a better understanding of its place in history. History buffs would like it here. The whole town was lovely. People were friendly.
