Read all the positive reviews and drove down to visit only to find an extremely limited parking lot. We were pulling a trailer, so there was no way we could get in and out. If we are in the area without the trailer we will try again.

This place is a must-see. It's interactive, innteresting, and unique. The staff is hands on and knowledgeable, plus, they really like their job, so they work to get you involved. It's a great way to learn about Natchitoches before you explore the city. Adult and kids will enjoy it. I've been there over 7 times with student groups and family.... More

This was a really fun tour. We were fortunate enough to have a private tour, I guess we were there on a slow day, which was so awesome for us. The tour guide was dressed in traditional clothing and was so informative.

I recently participated in a Civil War battle at the fort and I must say that I was surprised by what was there. I had seen the fort from the road several times, but never stopped there until the battle. The grounds are large with a nice walking path from the visitor's center to the fort itself. We had converted... More

Very informed staff. The movie was interesting and just the right length. All the displays were great. Didn't get to go down to the fort due to the rain. Will sure return again to see the fort. Great time for the family

We stayed in Natchitoches as part of a cross country trip not knowing what the city had to offer us. Happened upon the fort as we were driving through town. So worth the stop! There is a great museum area, with amazing buildings and walkways in the back. Very well done, wonderful staff, and nicely maintained.

Fort St. Jean Baptiste State Historic Site is located just outside of downtown Natchitoches and contains a replica of the French fort which once stood in the area. The replica is built to the exact specification laid out in the original fort's blueprints from the early 1700s and provides a lot of insight into what life was like for the... More
