We love spending the night @ the Fairfield Inn and Suites when we travel from Pensacola to Dallas for a family visit. The downtown area is fun to visit with charming shops, bakeries, Southern food restaurants and informative locals. The town comes alive for the holidays (especially Christmas and the 4th of July). Parades, the river is decorated with lights... More

Loved all the stores. Tres Bien Antiques was a favorite and my husband loved the hardware store. Really unique finds at Lagniappe Craft Market. Good collectible and holiday knick knacks at Southern Necessities. Gifts Galore and More had a large variety of things to look at. Bought a signed Devotional from Plantation Treasures. The author did a book signing there.... More

We just love this historic town. Shop are inviting with friendly employees. We typically just walk the area and go in and out of businesses. Parking on the main street is challenging but there is a parking lot just a couple of blocks away. There is variety of clothing, eating, and souvenir shops. The cane river runs along this area... We took our 13 year old there and he had a great time. He loved the food, ice cream, gadgets, etc AND we are both history teachers, so we kept his interest up, but if you have a fidgety, hard to distract teenager, plan on missing several shops. If you are with your sweetie or a group of friends, it... More

We were here on a Tuesday night in June. We really wanted to shop, but most of the stores were closed and didn't open until after we left at noon on Wednesday. Which seems really strange in the summer months.

Natchidoches is such a fun town to visit. Front Street right across from the Cane River has several stores ranging from an incredible hardware store to kitchen gadgets to clothes to interior decor. Plus great restaurants cafes for foodies! If you stick around Front Street after dark, you might get lucky and enjoy fireworks on the river!

We took a quick trip through the area and really liked this small historic shopping area. The grounds and river area are well maintained and inviting. While we were only there for a few hours we hope to return (when it's not so hot) and stay in one of the many B & B's in the area.

Went here this June with two friends. we were very pleased with the historic district in Natchitoches. The front street area is not only beautful but the little shops and stores and restaurants were fantastic. The old general store is a must see for everyone. Everyone was so friendly and helpful...we took the carriage ride to see historic homes and... More
