Had an awesome afternoon with Captain Kelly. Was beyond impressed with his knowledge of this amazing region. We did the small boat tour, which I highly recommend with a 10 and 13 year old. Captain Kelly stopped to point out amazing birds (which he also fed from the boat) and stopped for a total of about 8 alligators including on that was about 10-12' feeding them as well getting everyone (safely) very close to these amazing animals. He brought a small gator along with him and allowed those who wanted to hold it. Truly a special experience for our family and highlight of our trip to the region. Highly recommend this company and ask for Captain Kelly...you won't be disappointed!

My husband and I were on our first airboat tour on Sept 25. Capt Kelly was very knowledgeable and sure knows how to keep a captive audience. I learned quite a bit about the flora and fauna of the area. I will highly recommend to everyone I know, and hope to come back again!

Capt Kelly was awesome!! He did a great job of both keeping everyone entertained and providing us with educational information. We saw a lot of alligators (some up close and personal) and he seemed to know each one’s name and story. We also got to interact with several species of birds. They even have an adorable dog that serves as greeter and checks you in and shows you where to go. I wish we could give more than 5 stars. Highly recommend you won’t regret it. Ask for Capt. Kelly.

What a great experience. A must do if you are visiting the New Orleans area or, like us, live here and are looking for something different than the usual New Orleans. In my estimate the boat ride alone is worth the price of a ticket but then the alligators, the wildlife and the guide are added and take it over the top.

We have done a swamp tour, which was fun, but the New Orleans Airboat Tour bring something much more special. They picked us up from our hotel. We packed some drinks and Captain Ramon brought us a cooler and ice to put them in. He expertly guided our boat to some very beautiful and interesting spots and told us all about the ecosystem surrounding us. We loved seeing all the gators and holding the baby one was a true highlight!

This was an awesome tour. We had a great time with Captain Kelly. He was very informative an answered any questions we had. In addition to seeing the gators we also got to see an eagles nest and some other amazing birds that love marshmallows. They really do seem to care about their land and the safety of us and the gators. My daughters got to hold a baby gator that Captain Kelly had with him as well. This was an amazing experience for our kids to be able to see gators in their natural habitat instead of in a zoo. My kids were also wondering how "Lewis" is doing? (He let them name one of the gators Lewis) Great Tour... would definitely recommend this tour to anyone. P.S. Thanks Capt. Kelly for the recommendation on Perino"s Boiling Pot, it was delicious.

Our tour guide randy was awesome. You go out into the marsh via airboat. He explains the ecosystem as well as how alligators are raised there. He grabbed a 3 foot alligator out of the water and let everyone on the boat hold it safely. We saw two other alligators as well. A great ride through a very isolated spot in the bayou.

We would like to give this experience the best rating possible! We cannot emphasize enough how enjoyable and educational this Airboat experience was for all of us! We had a large group with various ages (14 to 53) and everyone found it AMAZING! Our captain, Cap'n Randy, is very knowledgeable and told us about his beloved bayou with stories and experiences from the heart. This is his backyard and his family home, and his love and care for the environment and its wild inhabitants is clear. This was without a doubt one of our very favorite experiences! We will never forget our encounter with the wildlife and the bayou. Cap'n Randy is sweet, smart, and humorous. He is good natured and very capable. Everyone involved is welcoming and caring, and made the experience more pleasurable. We cannot thank Cap'n Randy enough for his kindness and his knowledge. This is an experience of a lifetime!

I really can’t say enough great things about this experience. We have kids (12,10,8, and 6) who joined my husband and I. We decided to choose this company because it’s a family business even though it was a little more expensive. I loved that it wasn’t commercialized. Josh was our guide grew up in the area, and was incredibly knowledgeable on all things swamp related. He was very engaging, and my kids thought he was the best. You can tell that he really loves his job, and wants you to enjoy it. My youngest counted 35 alligators that we saw on our ride. The only bad thing is the time passed too quickly. I thought my younger two would get bored, but everyone was disappointed when it was over. Worth every penny.

This was an amazing experience!!! From booking to the actual tour everything was professional and straightforward. We booked a private tour for 7. The shuttle driver picked us up on time. When we got to the location, we checked in and waited briefly for our tour to start. Before the we boarded the boat we went to the restroom. They only have portable restrooms. When I tell you those were the cleanest portable restrooms I have ever seen!!! They were fresh smelling and larger than the average size. Now on to the tour, the area is beautiful! The airboat itself was so much fun to ride, especially when we starting going fast! Captain Kelly is the best! He was very nice and knowledgeable. We saw quite a few gators even though it was cold outside. My only recommendation is that you bring a jacket. It was a warm day, around 70 degrees. I left my jacket at the AirBnB. It was quite chilly once we started moving on the water.

How do I go about booking a tour as a solo traveler?
Written August 28, 2018
We booked online through their website and had a hire car and drive there
Written August 30, 2018
The small boat tour, that I recommend, is $85 per person if you drive yourself there. If they transport you there, it is more: I think $105 per person. The larger boats are less per person. We loved the small boat with Captain Kelly.

What is the best time of day to take a tour? We're scheduling for early July. Thanks!

I also agree with CarlCJ79. My wife and I enjoyed our excursion in November when it was not quite so hot and humid, and there were practically no mosquitoes. Make sure to take a good camera that you can jump back and forth with video and still pictures. You will want a good zoom lens that you can adjust on the fly. The boat operator will pull into a location (there are many) where you will just stop and the propelling fan turned off. If you are like me, you will have it in the back of your mind that the fan WILL start back up. Gators will swim in from a distance, and some will surprise you right next to the boat. They blend in with the swamp really well. But not to worry. Most of these operators were born and raised near these swamps and have been doing these tours a long time. They even know the gators by name. AND THE GATORS KNOW THEM!!! You will have an unforgettable time!
