We were picked up from the hotel by bus, our driver being George. He was a real character with good tips about places to eat and what to try. He made the trip short by telling stories about his "long suffering wife", and his "drinking habits" which were quite funny, but taken with a grain of salt.
Our swamp Airboat Captain Chip, was very personable and full of Information about the swamp waterways, wildlife conservation and invasive pests. We loved going fast on the water, saw lots of gators and various other types of wildlife. We got to meet his buddy , a little gator and hold him for photos.
We got the boat back to the city and George dropped most of the passengers at Bourbon st to continue our adventures. A morning well spent.

We managed to book onto a 4pm swamp tour with Jason, this was great and totally better than expected, we saw an abundance of wildlife inc alligators, herons and a bald eagle. Jason was very knowledgeable and at time cracked the odd joke. He brought out a tiny alligator for people to gently hold and have a personal photo opportunity, I liked how this was included and not charged separately like other establishments would such as zoo’s. Highly recommended for anyone traveling to New Orleans area.

Few people ever imagine the swamp as a beautiful place but if you take a swamp tour you will discover that there is beauty and mystery found in the Louisiana Swamp.  Taking a swamp tour provides an opportunity to see the beauty that exists in a place you would not imagine. Jean Lafitte Swamp Tours has always been my go to tour company for visiting family.  All my family members have loved the tour every single time.  A journey with Jean Lafitte Swamp always provides an amazing guide (Captain Jamie)that transforms into a swamp encyclopedia for the 90 minute journey.  In addition, the guides always have funny jokes. You will be amazed by the things you will see while on the journey.  the Spanish Moss, Cypress Trees, Herons, turtles, and don’t forget the stars of the show the American Alligator which makes the tour even more exciting.  At the end of the tour you will journey back the same way you came on a boat but this time to the sounds of Zydeco.  If you have visitors in town for the summer it is a wonderful way to introduce them to the beauty of Louisiana Wildlife.

We decided to spend Thanksgiving 2022 in New Orleans and booked an Airboat tour. Our Captain was Miles, and he was really great. Very entertaining and certainly knew the swamp, we saw 5 gators in late November. In our family group we had ages between 10 and 80 and everyone enjoyed every minute of it. Book this tour, you will be very pleased.

Took a 2pm swamp tour. Saw several small gators and many turtles. Nice tour, the sound system wasn’t working properly and made it very hard to hear the tour guide Brent. Would recommend. Would also be good if they fixed the speakers. We had a really hard time hearing as it cut in and out.

Went on a small airboat tour (there were 9 people) with Captain Randy. We saw alligators, egrets, and other wildlife. Capt Randy was full of great information about the bayou, wildlife, conservation, and other interesting information. We truly are happy we chose this fun thing to do while here in New Orleans. Would highly recommend it.

We did the 90 minute fan boat tour and it was absolutely wonderful! Our guide, Ramon, was so knowledgeable and fun. He taught us so much about the ecosystem and his experiences doing tours. 10/10 trip and would highly recommend!

Don't get screwed!!! Many tour companies pick up tourists at the hotel. We were forced to take a ferry and Uber for over $60. UNACCEPTABLE! Never Again. Alligators only come out in Spring/Summer. USE another Company!

The air boat tour is well worth it! Captain Curt was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure we found all sorts of wildlife. The entire staff was so friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience! Must do activity!

Actually, everything about this tour was absolutely amazing. I was having the time of my life enjoying the bayou and taking pictures, and listening to our knowledgeable and fun guide. Until THAT. Until they pop out a small little young gator from a cabinet within the boat.
This totally ruined my day and my opinion of this tour company. Can you imagine this creature living in a small and dark cabinet only to be taken out at mid tour to be passed around to be held and photographed by tourists, his mouth shut by tape????? THIS IS ANIMAL CRUELTY. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The poor thing lay there scared and trembling while people passed it around multiple times for snapshots. Of course me and my husband refused to take part in this. I would have left the tour immediately if we were on ground. My husband even shouted “it’s not a toy” hoping to be listened, but people were too busy laying their hands on the gator.
I don’t blame the guide, that’s his job and he has to do that. I totally blame the company, and also people should be more considerate and refuse to take pictures with wildlife.
I would never have taken the tour if I knew.
