This was our first experience camping in an RV! We loved the quaint beautiful park! The river is beautiful. The nature walkways, boat slips and huge fishing pier are awesome. The bath houses, although we didn't use, are clean and new. Our only issue was we pulled in after hours about 7pm and we had questions an could not anyone.... More

We stayed at this park in Campground #2, which is closer to the breath taking Tchefuncte River. It has good sized paved sites, picnic table, fire ring and grill. The bathroom/showers are newer, plenty of hot water and clean. Garbage cans are emptied frequently, so no problem there. Free use of laundry facilities, was a bonus!! Quiet park during the... More

Stayed in this state park for 2 nights. There were several RVs across from us that were people who get together every year during Mardi Gras season and stay here. The park is on the Tchefuncte River and is a gorgeous setting. Spanish moss hangs from the trees. Sites are large with picnic table, BBQ grill and fire pit. There... More

What a beautiful campground on the river! Clean facilities, bathhouse, and beautiful landscape and buildings to fit the local architecture. The sites are decent sizes and the grounds were very quiet at night. Laundry room was wonderful and the bathhouse was huge, could have been a little cleaner but not bad. Best state park bathhouse we've ever been to. Only... More

We stayed a few days in the back loop of the RV park. Found the park itself to be nice. The area around the river is quiet and enjoyable. The bathhouses clean and well stocked. Boat launch area looked good, though we didn't take advantage of it.

Whether you are looking for a place to camp or simply a place for a walk along the river and through the swamp, Fairview is simply perfect. A bonus is the Otis house which was once the largest importer of mahogany in the United States. Very cool and relaxing!

What a wonderful weekend! With this being out first time staying at this park, we really didn't know how the camp sites were set-up. So, after we checked in, we drove around the park to see the layout. Initially, we were set to stay on site 5, but after driving around and seeing the back, premium spaces, we had asked... More

Well maintained and beautiful park for camping, good security and oversight, relaxing and peaceful. Great respect for the state investment that gives you such a secluded and tranquil place to park your camper and enjoy nature. Loved the boardwalks, the boat dock and ramp, the facilities including free use of washer and dryer. Great vistas with Spanish moss and waterways... More

Great collection from the Queen Victoria tradition featuring a house built in the 1880s for a wealthy New Orleans businessman. That would be William T. Jay, the builder and operator of an extensive saw mill operation on the site. The house is furnished with period pieces of funiture and all the trappings of well-to-do turn of the century entrepreneurs. The... More
