Nice park on the bayou
Dec 2020 • Couples
We stayed here for one night while passing through. The campground is just a few minutes off I-12, but far enough that there is no noise. The campground is divided into two areas. Stay in the far loop and you are right on the water. There is a small boat launch and dock, along with boardwalks through the swamp and along the bayou. Our stay at site 70 was quiet, shady and peaceful. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Very nice State Park
Feb 2020
Very nice state pack tucked away by the Tchefuncte River in Madisonville, LA. All camping sites in front area were paved, but some were pretty small in length, making it difficult to get both rig and truck in site, although we did accomplish it. Nice park to walk around with a boardwalk that goes along the river and then through a swampy area. Very friendly staff and quiet area even through it is very close to town. Bathrooms were very clean. Would definitely stay here again, but probably in the middle in the front area as those sites appeared to be longer in size.

Very nice clean State Park
Jan 2020 • Couples
Very nice and well maintained Park. I will say it is very tight maneuvering through the park and getting into a site with a large rig. We are about 65 feet with the dolly and car in tow. We made it but not a lot of fun. For a 40-foot rig I, think you'd be fine. Park is not real big and kind of quaint. Even if you're not back by the river it's, a short walk. Would definitely stay here again and recommend.

Stayed at this park and it was quiet and very quaint. Walked around the park and the boardwalk along the river. Would return and definitely recommend it.

Smaller than expected
Jul 2019 • Family
I took my daughters here for a fun day out. It cost $9 to enter, but it was so small we only walked around for about an hour before we left. The house didn’t open that day until 1PM, we arrived at 10AM it there wasn’t enough to do to stay until 1pm for the house to open.

That being said, the grounds are beautiful. I’m biased but the trees and swampy bayou were picturesque. There were some people fishing and boating and kayaking, even a group doing yoga on the dock. There were playgrounds but there was no shade around them and it was just too hot to play on those. There were RVs everywhere!

Amazing Park Ranger
Mar 2019 • Couples
This was our first time to visit Fairview Riverside State Park in Louisiana. When we arrived we were greeted by Steven Welch the park ranger. He is an amazing park ranger. He offered us a map which showed us various hiking trails and where to fish. He also told us about another but state park nearby called Fountainbleu State Park. After wandering around the park he spotted us near the Otis house which was closed for the day. He ended up giving us a personal, private tour of the house. I have never experienced such a welcoming park ranger. We will definitely be back here soon.

Beautiful park
Feb 2019 • Solo
This is one of the prettiest parks I have stayed in. The showers and bathrooms are clean and nice. I opted to spend the extra money to upgrade to a site on the water. Well worth the cost. River surrounding the loop. There is a boardwalk along the river where the cypress trees grow. Upscale shops and grocery stores minutes away. Mardi Gras this coming weekend I will be leaving the area.

Beautiful Park with the scenic Tchefuncte River at it's edge

We stop here twice a year. The park is great but is prone to flooding in the boat launch loop if it's been raining a lot.

Nice clean and quiet

The only reason for not giving a 5 is no awesome views and only short walks. But overall very nice place to relax from the busyness of New Orleans.

Ahhhhh . Nice and quiet

We camped in a motorhome in spot 77 and had a lovely riverview. The staff at this Louisiana State Park were extremely helpful and friendly. The bathhouse was kept immaculately clean. The spot was roomy but barely had enough room to park our vehicle. We had great satellite reception, AT&T and over the air channels.
