This Golf Course is in Excellent shape and very reasonable!!

Since there was some kind of golf tournament going on when we were at the Golden Nugget, we couldn't get on their course so someone recommended Gray Plantation. A very nice track that offers all skill levels challenges with fairness. The condition of the course was really impressive with NICE fairways and greens that rolled very true (I wish my putter would have taken better advantage, but, it is golf ...). The staff was professional, courteous, and very friendly to boot. I highly recommend this course if you're in the area and can't get on one of the casino courses (or don't want to pay their higher prices - Gray was $50 for seniors with a new GPS cart) - you'll be glad you did! Oh, I forgot to mention we got in 18 holes in 3 hours.

Great Round of Golf
Jul 2018 • Couples
My wife and I stayed at the Golden Nugget (where only managers have an answer to the most simple questions... everything is over cooked and check-in sometimes can take till 8 pm.)
We have played Gray a Plantation several times and with no disappointments...
This was no different and the conditions were excellent at half the price ($46 )of the Country Club At the Golden Nugget or Contraband Bayou At L’Auberge ... you get free range balls... brand new golf carts with phone charging ports and gps.. the staff is NICE and they are empowered to make a decision on the fly....
If you want challenge on a course in excellent condition .. pick Gray Plantation ...call them direct to make a tee time google them....

Very nice golf course
Jan 2017 • Couples
We like to play golf when we travel, although we're advanced hackers. We booked a round at Gray Plantation because it got good reviews. The day was cool and windy, so the course was wide open when we arrived. The course was in good shape, for January. It's a challenging, but fair course, and we played from the senior tees. For those with more ability, this would be a very good tract. We finished in under four hours and are glad we got to play. If the weather had been better, our scores would have been lower, but who cares?

We enjoyed the layout and the price compared to LauBerge and Golden Nugget. Just remember to bring something to wash your golfballs. Didn't see one ball washer on the course. Also bring your own beverages. Not a beverage cart in sight. I couldn't believe it. Saturday 10:00 am T-Time, and no beverage carts?? I will play it again, but I'll be prepared.

Challenging Track
Feb 2016 • Friends
During a 3 month "snowbird" visit to Louisiana, I was told I had to come to this course and play. It is extremely well run. The staff here is friendly and very helpful. They matched me up with a couple of members(with handicaps close to mine - 10). For playing in the winter, the course was in really good shape. They do not overseed which I was a little surprised about but the fairways were very playable and the course is pretty challenging from whatever tees you play at. The course has 4 sets of men's tees with length up to 7,200 yds. I played from the white(6,300). Worth the price.

A True Gem in South Louisiana

I imagine this golf course is in magnificent shape during the Summer. Even in December, the greens and fairways were well kept. Challenging layout but lots of risk/reward opportunities. Probably the best course I've played on the Audubon Golf Trail. I'll play it again next time I'm in Lake Charles.

Our Wedding Venue
Dec 2014 • Couples
Although it won't help those planning a golf trip, we did use Gray Plantation for our rehearsal dinner and wedding venue. It was absolutely fabulous. The entire staff was great. The food was absolutely amazing (so I guess those that gold and are planning to stop in for a bite can use that but of advice). It is also very reasonably priced.

"A must-pay in Lake Charles"
Jul 2014 • Friends
This is one of the best courses in the area, and one of the best deals, too. Like most of Louisiana, it's got pine trees and water everywhere. Several holes challenge you to carry lakes to reach the greens. Be careful as the ball seems to not carry well in the humid bayou air. The greens were top-notch the last time we played there - smooth and fast. Our green fee was about as low as it gets, and range balls were free. Go play it!
