Went to hike the trails. The lady at the front didn't know if the trails were kept up. They were very muddy but it had just rained. The ultimate downside is that as you're driving in, you have no idea how to find the trailheads. Maybe you're a better navigator than me but I did run into a nice lady... More

We booked our stay in Cabin 11, checking in Friday and checking out Sunday. Our first night a pretty bad storm came through but that did not rain on our parade Saturday. We hosted a birthday party for two of our children and had many family and friends over and we all had a great time. The cabin was clean... More

This park has seen better days, but efforts to upgrade are visible. We had a campsite directly on the lagoon/bayou, where a Great Blue Heron was fishing. The frog chorus at night was respectful of quiet hours, hee hee... pretty much abated after 11pm. Office personnel friendly and welcoming. Nice family trails along the lagoons and rivers.

Most definitely a quiet layed back place to camp with many walking trails, nature all around you, including deer that roam free and you will occasional see raccoons and squirrels begging for food. The rangers would rather you not feed them for their safety. You will also see MAY turtles in the ponds, and there is an alligator so you... More

Made reservation online and cost $6 just todo that. Narrow roads in, out and throughout the park. Had rained and was semi flooded, and the sewers were full. Spots were not big rig friendly. Good trails to walk around and the disc golf course was good. Spots were confusing, in blocks of 4, there was no rhyme or reason. Staff... More

A treasure in Louisiana but sadly maintained. Restrooms are not properly cleaned and stocked with basics and RV sites are deteriorating to a very sad degree. A wonderful location that offers an excellent taste of Louisiana swamps. Lots of walking opportunities that will get you in close touch with nature. This State Park is one of our must-visit spots on... More

Just a park, you can camp,BBQ. Plenty of open space. Dock to see alligators. Restrooms available. Entrance fee is minimal. OK if your an outdoors type of person or family.

We did a family reunion here and it was so nice. There were electrical outlets, close restrooms, water, covered pavilion. Just a really nice place and easy to keep an eye on the children.

We hiked the old stagecoach ( yellow) trail and it was very easy for young child to keep up for the couple mile round hike. Lovely river views. Then drove round to the main camp grounds. Lots of quintessential Louisiana swamp landscapes and plenty of turtles sunning themselves.

I love this state park....It is the perfect place to take grandchildren or just to go for a walk. Lots of trees, on the water, and plenty of wildlife to see (even a tame deer!)
