This is very nice and fun to see. It has a plane, tank and other things to see. Oh, yes and alligators in a fenced in area. Please don't feed them or get inside the fence. They will not charge at you but are dangerous to be around. And please, don't hurt them.

I try to stop by every time I go. Such a peaceful place. It reminds you to thank the men and women who have sacrificed so much for all of us. Thank you for your service. To the men and women that served in Vietnam Welcome home and thank you for your service.

Beautiful and tranquil memorial park set on beautiful Lake Charles. I highly recommend that you visit the park and take time to think about the men, women and their families who sacrificed everything for our freedom and our way of life.

If you enjoy researching the veterans of every war, this is a great place to go to see who, from, Louisiana, has been involved in every war. On the opposite end of the park is the memorial to 9/11.

This little Memorial Park is a lovely setting and well done and maintained. It is not far from the Visitor Center and close to downtown Lake Charles. It has the waterfront as its backdrop, which is very nice. There is a walkway behind it as well. If you are at the visitor center you can turn right from there and go around and this memorial on just on the right. There is a tank and a helicopter a soldier statue as well. This is done very nicely.

This statue is of a home town man who gave his life to keep our country free. I was in college when alot of these young men and women went to this war zone. I worried over relatives who were stationed there. I wrote my cousin while he was serving in the Army. He returned home & eventually died o alcoholism. We never know what they went through. This memorial honors all branches of the service. I served as a Navy wife stationed in the U, S. A. ,a Marine's mother who served stateside also, a daughter of an Army Air Corpsman, niece to 4 Navy corpsmen. To walk in this park gives me chills. The names in bricks, The helicopter with the lake behind it.
