This small, modern museum has a nice exhibit that includes both local antiques and informative visual displays. The film isn't that great though, it seems to be trying to hard to be dramatic instead of presenting an objective view of historical facts. Overall it's worth visiting though.

This was a great over view of Cajun history and culture before visiting Vermilionville. Film was a little overwrought. Finally learned what coush-coush was and Mardi Gras customs.

We were on a road trip and we needed a break ... check with TA to see what was available to see in the next town and Acadian Cultural Center came up. This was wonderful because my husbands family is one of the families that was pushed out of Nova Scotia during that time in history. His father had talked... More

The 45 minute film offered at this free museum gives visitors an enjoyable lesson on the history and culture of this very unique area. I left with a new appreciation of all things Cajun!!

We had such an amazing morning here at the Cultural Center. The artifacts were well displayed and easy to understand . Also, easy to view. The film tied the history well together. The grounds are well maintained. I do want to send a shout out to the volunteers who donate their time. They are all well informed and willing to... More

A well put together small museum that will give you a nice overview of the history and culture of Acadiana. A 30min film also gives one an understanding of the history of Louisiana Acadian people from France to the maritime region of eastern Canada (formerly L'Acadie), their deportation by the British known as Le Grand Derangement to their eventual settlement... The Acadiana Cultural Center offers a $25 week-long camp to kids in the summer. I believe it is 8:30-noon or something to that effect. It is fun and educational. The counselors keep the kidsm attention. We are not from Louisiana, so the culture here is new and interesting to us. The camp is great! The museum section offers insight into... More

This Acadian Cultural Centre called Vermilionville is a perfect representation of Acadian life from centuries past with authentically restored buildings, historic homes and lots of artifacts. The way that the buildings are gathered in one place makes the tour meaningful and easy to navigate. However, it is not crowded or compact by any means. The setting is very rural, along... More
