The ranger (a Ms. Jodie B.?) the day my cousins & I visited the Center was especially nice & answered all our questions we still had about the Acadians after watching the film. Two of us cousins lay down on the floor next to the 18 feet of blue tape depicting the largest gator caught in LA so the 3rd... More

I was interested in the Junior Ranger Program that I read about on some blogs, and I discovered that there is a Junior Ranger Program right here in Lafayette. I decided to take my kids there and check it out. There is a wealth of information here to learn about the Acadians. It's also free and right next door to... More

It Is a place the can not be missed! A lot to learn about the Cajun culture and the French heritage of this part of USA so different from the rest of the country. My favorite part of the visit was watching the film that , I highly recommend .

This small, modern museum has a nice exhibit that includes both local antiques and informative visual displays. The film isn't that great though, it seems to be trying to hard to be dramatic instead of presenting an objective view of historical facts. Overall it's worth visiting though.

This was a great over view of Cajun history and culture before visiting Vermilionville. Film was a little overwrought. Finally learned what coush-coush was and Mardi Gras customs.

We were on a road trip and we needed a break ... check with TA to see what was available to see in the next town and Acadian Cultural Center came up. This was wonderful because my husbands family is one of the families that was pushed out of Nova Scotia during that time in history. His father had talked... More

The 45 minute film offered at this free museum gives visitors an enjoyable lesson on the history and culture of this very unique area. I left with a new appreciation of all things Cajun!!

We had such an amazing morning here at the Cultural Center. The artifacts were well displayed and easy to understand . Also, easy to view. The film tied the history well together. The grounds are well maintained. I do want to send a shout out to the volunteers who donate their time. They are all well informed and willing to... More
