During COVID - it was a great way to celebrate my birthday without getting too close or in a crowd. It's an experience I won't forget. It was an adventure for the teens and romantic for the adults. The paddle back in darkness was so exciting with owl sounds and EYES everywhere. Bring bug spray, grab a substantial snack at the rental location, maybe a couple of beers.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Rebecca! The sunset paddle on Cane Bayou is our favorite, too!

These folks really know how to treat you right. We rented two tandem kayaks in order to spread the ashes in Lake Pontchartrain of a friend who passed. The paddle from the put in on Bayou Cane to the lake was perfect and everyone was so very considerate and accommodating. Took about two hours.

It's March and the gators are just starting to come out of hibernation. We saw two. There's absolutely nothing to be afraid of and the Bayou Adventure crew helped everyone feel comfortable. Bayou Cane is serene and beautiful, especially early or late in the day. Don't miss it.

I can't recommend this place enough. The nicest people in the world, and the most beautiful place for a paddle. Bayou Adventure has delicious food at the store for pre or post paddle eating, plus great sandwiches etc. to take along. They also are a great bait shop and will set you up for kayak fishing or even crabbing. On our trip yesterday we saw a bald eagle, a family of gorgeous ospreys, all kinds of smaller birds and turtles. You can take a tour or go on your own, and we look forward to taking a sunset paddle when the weather warms up.

This was absolutely great. Very easy, the guys at the beach were friendly, nice and super helpful. My 4 year old loved it. These kayaks looked way nicer then some of the others out there and it was comfortable and stable. Can’t wait to do it again!

LOVED paddle boarding through the swampy creeks. The end of the trail had an awesome “beach” where we all grouped our boards together for a while and hung out. The staff was super-duper accommodating and helpful. I went with a big group of friends—most of us kayaked a couple took the SUPs. This was such a great afternoon and something new and different to do these days ;) Looking for something new and fun to do on the weekend—definitely give these guys a visit!

My friend and I rented kayaks for about 3.5 hours this past Saturday.

Bayou Adventure makes the kayaking experience extremely convenient; you stop at the store to pay ($35 per single kayak per day) and then drive to the main street launch. They drop the kayaks off for you, and whenever you are done you just give them a call, they come pick the kayaks back up, and you are free to go.

Bayou Lacombe is beautiful. It is incredibly peaceful. We hardly saw any other boats the whole time. There were fish jumping out of the water and a few egrets. No alligator sightings though. I will definitely go back and I would definitely recommend!

The proprietor, Shannon, is knowledgeable and helpful in selecting the proper bait and equipment for your venture along Lake Rd. down to Lake Pontchartrain, or a kayak trip on Bayou Lacombe, or a bike ride along the Tammany Trace. A must for visitors to Lacombe.

My friend and I had a day off and decided we wanted to go do something different. I had walked on the Trace and seen people in kayaks on the bayou so I googled it. We ended up at Bayou Adventure. We each rented a kayak, were driven down to the Bayou, and pushed off into the water for the day. When we were finished, we called for pick up. When they came to pick us up, they brought us a nice cold bottle of water. Everyone was very friendly and did everything they could to make our day pleasant. Oh, and their bug spray...worth every penny. It smells great and is not made from chemicals.

We recently moved to town and got our fishing licenses and bait from Bayou Adventure, and we plan to rent extra bikes and kayaks when friends come to visit. They have everything you need and will get your trip off to a great start!

If you come down to Bayou Lacombe or anywhere nearby, you MUST stop in Bayou Adventures. They know the when, where and with what of fishing. Forgot something at home? They gotcha covered. Want to try out kayaking? They gotcha covered. Want to stay on land? Rent a bike and tour the area. Everyone one we met in our numerous stops here was extremely helpful and friendly. In today's world some shops have lost that customer service but not these guys.
