Airboat tour was fantastic! Owner contacted us ahead of time because unexpected rain was coming in and they wanted to be sure they could accommodate us. Our captain took us for a quick 15-minute ride over to an area where he knew a female and her baby gators resided. We found the family and our tour guide attracted them by feeding them marshmallows. He was able to retrieve one of them from the water for us to pet. He was full of great knowledge about the swamp and gator life. After this, he took us on a long boat ride through various parts of the swamp, including open water, canals, areas covered in lily pads, broken cypress trees, and an old Cypress Forest growing out of the water. He took time in the forest to turn off the boat and talk to us about water lines on the trees and life in the swamp. Our boys are scouts...we learn that this company is supported by the BSA and works with them to offer canoeing activities, etc. This company also offers canoe and long boat rides. The long boat rides are more narrated, where the airboat is more of an adventure. Our total tour time was an hour and a half and we had a great time! Highlight of our weekend!

The staff were very friendly and showed Real Great Cajun Hospitality . I took my family out to the Atchafalaya Basin and we stopped at Mcgee"s Louisiana Swamp tours. We were greeted by a very friendly staff there and we decided to take a tour of the Atchafalaya Basin. Our Boat Captain and Tour Guide Ryan helped me get onto the boat. I am a disabled veteran and I need assistance to get on and off the boat. Our boat captain tour guide then took us out into the Atchafalaya Basin. He also was very great at showing and telling us the history of the various places as we rode thru the Basin. He also showed us lots of the wild life and he was very professional as he drove the boat and showed us some large Alligators in the wildlife refuge in the basin. I would highly recommend that you pass by Mcgees Louisiana Swamp Tours on your trip to the Henderson Swamp Area. You will have a wonderful experience with their staff and their Swamp Tours. We went out on the regular tour boat and we had a great time out on the Basin. They also have Air
Boat Tours too. Thank you to all of the staff at Mcgees for giving me and my family a wonderful time on our tour. I could not go on the Air Boat because of my disability and I really enjoyed being out on the water again on the regular tour boat. Thank you to all of the staff at Mcgees for letting this happen and thank you for being flexible because of my special needs that I have.

Great trip through the Atchafalaya Basin swamps. I took some out of state relatives on this trip and they said it was the highlight of their visit. Capt. Chris was our airboat pilot and he gave a great narrative as we travelled through the basin. And he can really find the alligators.

it was horrible, the guy that led the tour on land rushed off. He said right when we pulled up to look for clues, we walked so fast that we didn't have no time to look for clues. When we would slow down to look for clues he would tell for us to hurry up. The captain on the boat lied saying we had one motor so we idled all the way there and back, the boat ride took most of the time. It was a waste of money. We couldn't even take pictures of us out there with out getting yelled at.

My husband’s sister and her family were visiting from out of town. They wanted a true Louisiana bayou experience. We decided on a whim to do McGee’s swamp tour and had a blast!! Captain Ryan was the best!! He was very knowledgeable about life in the swamp and provided plenty of interesting natural history about the vegetation, birds, fish, and most importantly the alligators!! We saw over a dozen alligators and he drove the boat so close I could see individual scales!! It was such an amazing experience. I highly recommend Captain Ryan and McGee’s Swamp Tour for your family and visitors.

We had a great tour with our family with young kids. We saw lots of alligators and Captain Ryan told us about the local bird and fish species. Learning about the local natural history of the Atchafalaya was very interesting. We enjoyed the relaxed pace and had time to observe nature and learn about some local curiosities. They also had a really cute Cajun Christmas photo set up that we took advantage of before we got on the boat.

Oren was a very entertaining guide, and he made sure we saw the things (alligators!) that live there. He gave an interesting historical picture of the Atchafalaya Basin. This would be a great family outing!

We were particularly pleased to learn that the Boy Scouts of America have made a small part of this territory into a high adventure camp.

Ear protection provided. Cute gift shop too.

We enjoyed the Atchafalaya Christmas Tour. It was fun and educational. The staff was amazing and everyone was so nice. Extra thanks to Popa Noel (Skip Andaya) and Mrs. Kathy, the elf. I highly recommend bring your kids and family. The kids loves the Christmas story “A Cajun Night Before Christmas”. The girls enjoyed making their Cajun turtle ornament.

Just finished the swamp your here. I recommend it because it’s a great way to see the natural beauty of the swamp with all its wildlife, but equally as important is the wealth of knowledge. Skip was our skipper! He clearly had a command of the history in the area dating back to the indigenous people. We learned about Acadian, Creole and Cajun. We also learned about the people that lived and live in the swamp. Skip was also very informative on the ecology and development of the meander as time has passed. He was great, and the tour was absolutely worthwhile. Thank you McGee’s and Skip the skipper!
