Terrible shape
Aug 2019 • Couples
My husband and I played this course when we were camping at Lake Bistineau State Park. It was close and only $30 to play so we thought we would check it out. We pulled into an amazing neighborhood and thought the course would be awesome. How wrong we were. The clubhouse is lovely and there was 1 girl working. The first bad sign was the condition and cleanliness of the carts. They were dirty and full of grass. We made our way to Meadows 1 after getting lost (poorly marked). Every hole was terrible. Piles of dried grass in the fairways (we lost 4 balls in the middle of the fairway because of all the grass), trash in the middle of the fairway, weeds growing 5 inches tall and piles of sand on the greens, bunkers overgrown with weeds, sprinklers watering hillsides or flooding a green and the list goes on and on. In it’s heyday this course was something special and could be again with the right owners. It is a crime they have let it go. We did try to get a refund to no avail. They said it was discounted anyway but it should not even be open. STAY AWAY!

So awful it needs to be removed from the Louisiana Audubon Golf Trail
Jun 2018 • Couples
My husband and I did the Audubon Golf trail for the last 10 days and planned our hotel stays around the courses listed as official Audubon Trail courses. This course was so bad it was a total waste of time. The pro shop was pretty but was about it. The fairways, tee boxes and greens were the worst we've ever seen. Most greens had little to no grass. Equipment around the course were unkept, no water, etc. Very sad.

Golf Course

This course is a beauty and could be so much more with the right owner. I think of this course as seasonal. In the late spring and summer, this course is in fairly sad shape. They only have a 6 man ground crew to try to take care of the huge 27 hole course. But, in the fall, winter, and early spring, I fall in love with this place again. Friendly staff, $28 play with cart through the week, it makes a good practice course!

Depressing & Sad for Area. This was a premier venue prior to two floods and Mother Nature took its toll! My hope is that one day this once fantastic track makes it back to what it was prior to the floods - good luck to y'all!

Worst course in Shreveport/Bossier
Sep 2016 • Couples
I recently took my wife and I there to play 18 holes. We hadn't been to the course since early 2015 and it was in bad shape then. This time, just unbelievable. It's like everyone left. The tee boxes were overgrown, sand traps were now weeded dirt pits, the greens were simply just unplayable. It was so depressing to see this once beautiful course now turned into a cattle field. For those locals who remember when Meadow Lake and Querbes were at their worst, this was hardly any different. But a lot more expensive. 77 dollars to be exact. What a waste of $. Go to our city courses instead. They are much nicer.

What a disappointment
Sep 2016 • Solo
Staff was friendly, course was poor at best. Weeds everywhere, I don't mind a long rough but the weeds and old cut grass made any ball on the rough next to impossible to find. Greens were spotty and slow. Fairways had bare spots and un-mowed areas. Sand traps were overgrown. A totally bad experience.

Great Course
Jul 2015 • Friends
Played Olde Oaks on July 23. Read a lot of reviews bashing the course and I have to say it was great. Hasn't rained in a month so it was a little dried out but the greens were in great shape and the course appears to be well maintained. We played Meadow/Cypress and the layout is great. Very challenging with water coming into play on most holes. Only complaint is there were a few bunkers with significant grass growth in them. We played twilight for 25 bucks with cart. Give this place a chance. Great round of golf.

Not worth it !!!
Jan 2015 • Business
Fairways and greens were in bad shape. All traps were unplayable. Fortunately the cost was only $ 27 with cart, but not really worth that much.

What happened to this once great course?
Apr 2014 • Solo
I hadn't played this course in several years and was shocked at the poor conditions. Did they lay off the entire maintenance staff? Fairways and tee boxes were hard and full of weeds. Several greens were bumpy due to lack of grass. Bunkers were horrid and basically unplayable. (Glad I only landed in one :-) ) Cart path asphalt was full of potholes with several places flooded due to bad drainage. Pro shop was unmanned for almost 10 minutes, while we waited to pay our green fees. Course restrooms were in bad shape and not maintained. The one on Cypress Hole #5 had no faucets on the sink and was full of bugs. Door had been kicked off the hinges. Lots of empty lots or lots for sale in the sub division. I debated giving it a 1 or 2 rating, but decided on terrible based on my expectations of how great this course used to be and the fact that it is still listed on the state of Louisiana's Audubon golf trail. Please spend some money and fix this once great course!

Great Course Gone to Pot
Mar 2014 • Friends
This used to be one of my favorite courses. Nice layout. Good value. Very enjoyable experience. It has since gone to pot. The maintenance/groundskeeping personnel should all be fired as well as current management. A group of friends and I played this course recently and were appalled at the condition of the course. Just like the other reviews, which I totally agree with, the traps are unplayable and shameful. Hard-panned (with ruts), excessive grassy spots, and some with pond life (fish) swimming in them. At $45.00 per round (winter rates) I think you could hire SOMEONE to go out and fix a bunker or two per day. (Pro shop kids were chipping golf balls behind shop during slow periods). Send them out with a rake, hoe, or shovel. Fairways in okay shape for time of year, but greens had rough and bare spots on numerous holes. Much better courses to play in area for better price. I love this course and have played it many, many times, but I will not be back until I hear that the course has had the much needed maintenance that it requires.
