Victims are remembered
Oct 2020
A brief bio is given for each murder victim of Bonnie And Clyde and a description of the event. There are other items of interest about the ambush.

Great little museum
Jun 2020 • Couples
We were fortunate to meet the son of the deputy with the ambush team. He was very interesting to listen to him describe the scene. He even described seeing the bodies himself. The museum has many articles and artifacts pertaining to the event. Highly recommend stopping here.

Great Info - Hot building
Aug 2019
The museum is packed with information on the life and times of Bonnie and Clyde. A lot of repetition with some of the photographs (be prepared to see death photos). Parts of the museum might be a little too much for the little one with "bloody" mannequins in a car and then two more reenacting the couple on the coroner's tables. Some actual used items with some replicas thrown in here and there. Good place to go if you want to learn about these two. The owners/workers were very friendly and ready to give you their 2 cents on the duo. However.... go when it's cooler. It felt as if they either had no AC or theirs was broke. Very hot in the building and caused us to cut our visit a little short. But all in all... very interesting place.

This place is GREAT, but the Picture are NOT THIS MUSEUM
Jul 2019 • Couples
C'mon Trip Advisor, look at the picture that are being posted. They are NOT the Authentic Bonnie and Clyde Museum. They are of the Ambush museum. Two totally different places.

The pictures you see are NOT those of the Authentic Bonnie and Clyde Museum. They are those of the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush museum. This place charges for admission, does not offer either a senior or military discount and is nothing more than cheap trinkets and over-priced junk. On the other hand, THE Authentic Bonnie and Clyde Museum is just next door, does NOT charge admission, has real memorabilia, and is staffed by Catherine Boddie, a wonderful, 92 year old, woman volunteer, who is a fountain of knowledge on the whole subject and the town of Gibsland in general. This museum also puts on a Bonnie and Clyde Festival every year funded in part by donations and sales from merchandise at this museum. THE AMBUSH MUSEUM NEITHER DOES, NOR CONTRIBUTES ANYTHING TO THIS FESTIVAL. You want to blow 7 dollars needlessly, fine. But I urge you to visit both and you will most certainly understand what I mean.

This was a completely random stop on a drive across country and really was the best place we stopped at. Awesome memorialable and a great attendent working the front desk who told us everything and was able to answer every question we had and pointed us down to the final ambush site.

It was ok

Well I’ll say they did have some very interesting things in there but only go if you are around town. Making a trip just see this would make you mad as it did to me. I drove about 4 hrs just to see that?!? I’m not blaming anyone or anything like that but it isn’t worth driving out of your way is all. I hope this helps. It’s about an 1 hr for a self guided tour. ($7)It is educational and they have a movie they play for you that tells the whole story.

Interesting
Apr 2018 • Couples
Went by the Ambush museum. Desk attendant was friendly, directed us to a video he put on for us about the ambush and footage. Interesting video. We proceeded to walk into more of the museum area and viewed various memoribilia and photos. Could have done without the bloody manniquins on display...you pretty much get the point from all of the photos of the death scene. Probably not a place for young kids or squeemish folks. Needs some serious cleaning. ..very dusty. Overall it was worth a stop in.

Corny, cheap and interesting.

I'm not sure if this place really qualifies as a Museum. It has so much stuff in there that is irrelevant or probably fake to make it more interesting. Entrance fee is $6 or $7 so that's not terrible. Just keep it in mind.

Stop Only If You're in the Area
Aug 2016 • Solo
Was passing through the area and wanted to see some Bonnie and Clyde history so I decided to stop in Gibsland. Dirt poor run down town. This museum was open so I went in. Musty, smelly old building, supposed to be a old cafe where Bonnie bought a sandwich before being gunned down, down the road. $7.00 to get in. Everything inside is not in order, lots of articles all over the walks. Some memorabilia from Bonnie and Clyde, not sure if anything is authenticated. Cheesy mannequins, fake tombstones, and a tacky replica getaway car with more mannequins inside of that.
The only part of the museum I found interesting was they had a VHS tape playing of some old footage of the ambush after it was over and some interviews of the officers that were involved. Gift shop is free to wander in. Most of the books are way overpriced. Other miscellaneous items for sale. No photos (not sure why ). Not worth going out of your way to visit.
