Well, this was a surprise. It involved a scramble across rocks to the top of the waterfall - short and easy, but not for people with mobility issues. If you are going to travel here by bicycle there’s is a lot of uphill so recommend a moped or a taxi. Good half day activity very rocky so don’t wear flip flops. Nice waterfall and swimming area.

not a lot to see here - more an enjoyable walk in the jungle to the top of the falls. To see the falls clearly involves a bit of a scramble over rocks on a well defined trail with chain hand rails in places - worth the scramble. You may get lucky and see some of the wild life being 'rehabilitated' we saw porcupine and monkeys. The information about the Vietnam war is good…

While I was enjoying my stay at the Phong Nha Eco Mountain Farmstay, I was happy to discover that the botanic garden was a short distance away from the resort. I was able to use one of their bicycles for free and go to the botanic garden in less than 30 minutes. The ride was so easy and enjoyable! The garden itself was pretty nice too and cheap to get in – worth the money. I enjoyed the hike through the jungle and there is an amazing viewpoint from where you can see the unspoilt landscape and lush green mountains. But the swim in the falls was by far the most fun that I had in a while. After the hike, it was especially rewarding and pleasant. I wouldn't get out of my way to go here, but if you are staying at the Phong Nha Eco Mountain Farmstay, it is definitely something you should do on one of your days in town.…

You're really walking in the jungle. This is not a botanical garden with flower decorations and fountains. The Waterfall is truly beautiful but be aware that the decent and climb is quite rough. You kind of cross the Waterfall so waring waterproof hiking shoes is recommended. Dont ware flip flops for this. PS they have porcupines in a Cage here…
