We went there for the Saturday morning jam session. There were about 10 fiddlers and a couple other instruments. They sounded like they were just learning, doing some very simple easy slow songs. We managed to stay for two songs. There were just as many people leaving as coming in. Parking is on a busy highway.

We had a lovely visit with Mr. Savoy who explained how those cute little accordians are made and the different kinds. We really liked the beautiful red accordian! We went back on Saturday morning for the jam session! Locals wandered in and out with their instruments and joined in whenever they felt like it. Great music! Different than Fred's. Loved... More

A group of musicians get together for a couple of hours on a Saturday and have a jam session. There were 11 fiddles, 3 guitars, a triangle, a zither, and a squeezebox. One of the players would put down his fiddle and play the piano every now and then. I especially enjoyed it when one of the players would add... More

This is our second visit to the Savoy Music Center. First exposed to several of the Savoy musicians at the N.O. Jazz Fest. I recommend this Saturday experience to anyone wishing to experience an outstanding, unique culture.

Old, young and in-between will enjoy this gathering of musicians that join in for a Cajun music jam session, in the true sense of the term. A special place for all to experience love and life in the country.

This a great way to hear true cajun music on Saturday morning. For two hours you can hear fiddles, accordians and guitars humming as the community hosts a jam session. It is free and friendly.

You will see several reviews by me of the Savoy Music Center. I have to travel the 6+hours to Eunice every now and then to visit DI's restaurant on Friday night, and the Savoy Music Center jam session on Saturday Morning. I am somewhat mobility impaired now so I arrived early to get a closer parking spot. I got a... More

Glorious music, the best "session" I have ever been to (twice) Marc himself comes across as a smashing person as well as being a fabulous musician and keeper of the cajun tradition and heritage. If you're in Louisiana you must go.
