This was the most amazing zipline excursion we've done, and we've done a lot in a variety of countries! Ours was from the top of a mountain that was a Botanical Garden & Art Museum of some sort (never did get the official name of the location). I was at the top of a LONG, WINDING, NARROW cobblestone road. After about 7-8 zips, there was the option of doing 3 more "extreme" zips. However, to get to the platform you had to climb up a LONG, metal ladder up the trunk of a tall pine tree. Over half of the group opted out (my husband included) as the climb was really scary! But the 3 final zips, 2 of which went from one side of the valley to the other, were totally worth it! The last zip was a double side-by-side. Downside - from the port you can't really get anywhere that you want to see quickly. Our bus ride was supposed to take 1 1/2 hours and it ended up taking 2 1/2 hours because of the volcanic eruption in mid-2018 that took out a village, the road and 2 bridges. There was also no food or refreshments included and there should have been, given that we were gone for a good 8 hours.

I am usually relunctant to do daring things, but after a glass of wine and much encouragement from my travel partners to try ziplining, I agreed and had a great experience. The staff was professional and helpful. Their command of the English language was good enough to put me at ease. (Way better than my Spanish). The drive up to the top of the mountain was a thrill in itself. The views were spectacular. They provide gloves, a helmet and a harness. You need to wear decent shoes - no open-toed sandals or flipflops. Once you get to the stand, you are harnessed in and clipped on. You hang on, take a little jump, lean back, and GO! A guy at the other end makes sure you reach the landing safely. There are several runs that get better each time. There is somewhat of a hike after the last run back to the vehicle. Just take your time. (I'm 63 and in okay shape). It was a thrilling experience! I'm glad my friends convinced me to try it.

This tour is way overpriced. You go down four lines which takes about 15 minutes in total. The tour should cost about $20 at most.

The staff was very professional and the gear looked good and safe. The first lines are not very impressive, but the last two are amazing! The views you have from the platforms are awesome and we didn't feel unsafe for one second. It is kind of expensive, but it is worth every minute.
