We stayed here two nights in winter. The park was almost empty but the staff was great and the scenery was incredible. We hiked and saw wonderful wildlife. We would stay longer next time, and in warmer seasons it must be a wonderful day or...More

Drove here from shreveport to see some beautiful countryside. We were SO underwhelmed. We drove to the docks and NO water! Apparently, they drained the lake in may because of invasive plants. The campground was a bust. The ONLY thing with seeing there was the...More

Relaxing, lots of great benefits/events, gorgeous scenery. One of the benefits there are The Brothers Keepers MC Burn Run for Camp I'm Still Me every year. There is RV parking also.

We went out of the way for this over night stop. A little disappointed, the bathrooms and showers and pretty much the park itself could use some care. The upside is the new-ish decks on some sites. Our Fire ring was far from our site...More

In accessible for fishing let alone launching a boat due overtaking with aquatic plants. Good swamp photo opportunity. Locals seem be unfriendly and don't want you on "Their" lake. State jus needs close public areas and let "locals" have the weed patch.

Lake Bistineau is a pretty gorgeous lake with tons of trees in the middle of it. The park is somewhat small but nice with some camping/cabin options and a good frisbee-golf course. I have never seen so much Spanish moss hanging from trees, it was...More

We love Lake Bistineau! We actually got married at one of the group camps. It is so beautiful. It would be nice if they would stop draining it!

Loved the Cyprus trees in the lake, covered by Spanish moss! The park was clean with many scenic spots for picnics. The Ranger was friendly. Not many people there on the Sunday afternoon we visited, but many areas for hiking, horseback riding, bike riding, boating,...More

Yes but recommend cozy. The lake is drawn down so not much fishing till drive down to the south end. Locals act like the own the lake so be prepared for that.
