My husband and I along with some friends toured the Houmas House on Christmas Eve before going to the bonfires on the Levy. Debbie LeBlanc Acosta was our tour guide and she was AMAZING! Did not rush us at all and was very informative. You couldn't help but notice how much pride she has in Houmas House and serving their... More

We visited Houmas House Plantation. Very nicely restored and decorated place. The visit was special because of John Hebert, the tour guide. His French ancestors had moved to the State 300 years ago.We were able to have a good idea of what life was in the plantation and the history of Louisiana. Strongly recommend him.

When we visit NOLA with guests, and they want to see a plantation, this is our go to place. The grounds, furnishings, and tour are the best. The food is exceptional, and a must when visiting.

The food was good for lunch, but the wait time was a little long.. The food was very good and the portion size was enough, for a doggy bag..

This was an exceptional tour of the plantation home. Our tour guide was wonderful with a wealth of information. If you asked a question, she knew the answer. I was very surprised to hear that the owner actually lives in two of the rooms at the plantation, and we visited the rooms he lives in as well! He bought the... More

The Houmas Plantation tour is a good way to experience history. Beautiful home that is now well cared for with pieces that are interesting to see. Since we went soon after Jan 1st, the home was nicely decorated for Christmas. The gardens are beautiful. We packed a picnic lunch vice eating in one of the restaurants.

This was our second visit to Houmas House. I love to visit historic homes, and whenever our family visits extended family in Louisiana, Mom and I like to visit the plantation homes along River Road. The best part of this home is that the owner still lives in it! I also enjoyed the tour guides. This time, we had Susan.... More

The Houmas house tour was so very interesting thanks to the tour guide, Elizabeth. I had not been on a tour like this one for many years and did not know what to expect. I appreciate the lively, frank explanations. Our group did not stay for lunch, but we will go back soon to give that a try too. Afterwards,... More
