The Krickets-Ponchartrain Vineyards
May 2021 • Couples
Last evening we enjoyed The Krickets at Jazz in the Vines at Ponchartrain Vineyards! They were awesome! We have been to several events at the vineyard and have enjoyed each one, but last night the trio did not disappoint, amazing vocals and great musicians! We can only hope you will be asking them back in the near future! Thanks for a great evening of wine , music and food!

Our favorite place
Feb 2021
We love going to the vineyard especially on Sat evening for Jazz'n in the Vines. It is so relaxing just to set in the vineyard and listen to music and drink the wine. A great way to spend a Saturday evening. We have been going for a few years now and enjoy it every time.

Nice atmosphere, wines
Nov 2018 • Couples
This is a great stop just outside of Louisiana to try some true Louisiana wine! This vineyard is almost 30 years old and producing some nice wines including their Blanc du Bois. They also bring in grapes from California allowing them to produce wines from grapes that won't grow in southern Louisiana. When we stopped, the woman working was very friendly and let us try a lot of different wines. Off the beaten path, the atmosphere is secluded and enjoyable.

First time here
May 2018 • Friends
Very surprised at the selection of wines. Great wines, but, not much on the “tastings”. I have been to many other wineries and they give you more “to taste”. Great hostess. She knew her stuff. The atmosphere and the winery itself is not much. Very hidden so pay attention to the sign.

First chance for Fall Jazz-in-the -vines 10/14
Oct 2017 • Couples
We typically try to make it to a few jazz shows each fall and Spring series, But we have had other committments this fall and last night was the first show we could make it to. It was "Walter-Wolfman- Washington and the Roadmasters" who were very good and the weather was very pleasant.

For wine club members like us entry for two is only $15 and includes a bottle of wine. great deal!!!

Last night we stopped at a subway onthe way and brought our own sandwiches. But we did get desserts from each of the two food trucks ( Reaux Chow & Old school eats) that were both very good.

Hopefully we can make it to the show scheduled in two weeks (Oct 28) to see the Creole Stringbeans

Great Place for a Date Night
Oct 2016 • Couples
This is a beautiful country outdoor setting. The music is always good, the wine is ok,
Bring your own food or purchase dinner from one of the truck vendors. Most frequent goers bring table and chairs and picnic foods. Some bring more elaborate settings with candles and fine deli foods. It's a great place to set, relax and drink a glass or two of wine while you enjoy the peaceful setting with good music.

2017 Spring Series of Jazz-in-the-vines is back 04/01
Apr 2017 • Couples
This year's jazz-in-the-vines kicked off last night with Dave Jordan and the NIA who put on a good show.

The weather was perfect for sitting out at the winery, drinking Pontchartrain Vineyard wine, having a picnic, and listening to music.

For wine club members such as ourselves, admission was only $15 and included a bottle of wine to kick start the evening.

There is a show every other Saturday night through June 24 with a fairly wide range of musical styles represented.

What a great stop!
Mar 2017 • Couples
The drive on the gravel road for a few miles to get back here was a little tricky, but we enjoyed seeing the grape vines and there was a lovely young lady who poured for our wine tasting (I believe hours are noon to four). There was a sample of 5 wines and all wines which they produce may not be available that day. My husband found a red he really liked and we bought a bottle. Tasting is $5 a person, refundable if you are buying wine. This is very close to Abita Springs and the Tammany Trace. Fun to try! We did call about fifteen minutes ahead to make sure they were open, and the certainly were.

Final Jazz-in-the-vines for fall 2016 10/29
Oct 2016 • Couples
We try to come to the Jazz-in-the-vines shows a couple of times a season. But for various reasons this was our only show this fall and it was great.

The band, Roddie Romero & the Hub City All-stars, put on a great show. And, the weather was perfect, actually fall weather for a change.

Being wine club members, the entry fee for two of us with a bottle of La Trolley white wine for $15 can't be beat. Also was able to snag a Holloween special on VooDoo Zin for $9.99/bottle.

With the picnic dinner we brought and two folding chairs it was a great fall evening out.

Quick 6-8 pound weight loss clinic disguised as a winery, July 2016
Jul 2016 • Couples
We have been wine club members for several years and had been to 3 or 4 Jazz-in-the-vines shows this spring and early summer. We love bringing a picnic and some folding chairs, getting a bottle of wine and listening to good jazz, or Cajun, or country music.

But somehow we volunteered ourselves to pick Blanc du Bois (sp?) grapes on a heat index 105+ Saturday in July. Although sort of fun, I was soaked with sweat and easily lost 6 pounds before the nice fried chicken lunch the winery provided for all the sweaty pickers.

I would do it again just to be part of the wine making process.

And I love coming up here where there is a little topography in Southeast Louisiana.
