We took a swamp boat tour in late February and it was a great experience, principally because of our guide, Jonathan. He was expert at manuevering the boat and pointing out wildlife. He was also knowledgable about plant life and history and behaviors of some of the species we saw. We saw many gator noses (it was a little cold for them to be very active) and quite a few birds we don't see every day. Jonathan always paused for picture taking if anyone wanted. He was humorous, too and although you could tell some of the jokes were made on every tour, he did not seem to be just going through the motions with a standard routine. The tour lasted an hour and it seemed like we were in another country if not on another planet, the bayou was so quiet and magical.

Highly recommend the tour.

Note: they very much prefer cash payment and at least for now you have to phone to find out times--they weren't listed on the website.

My favorite part of this experience was our tour guide, Jonathan. He was very knowledgeable and taught us about the vegetation and wildlife on the lake. He made sure to stop and let us get pics of whatever we wanted. We saw a lot of alligators and birds - I would recommend taking this tour.

Informative tour. Johnathon is very knowledgeable about the animals and vegetation in the swamp. We learned interesting facts about turtles, alligators, cypress trees, and the floating grasses. We saw 4 or 5 alligators and many birds and turtles. Tour was one hour long and we rode in a flat bottom boat that Johnathon expertly steered through the trees and stumps in the water.

Tell more about the lake and swamp instead of telling jokes. Cover more area instead of sitting still for no reason other than to pass the hour. Don't charge full price for toddlers that have no idea what they are looking at. When the guide is asked a question, answer that question instead of ignoring the guest or telling another joke.

Informative and fun 1-hour tour of a natural lake and bayou filled with cypress, tupelo and plenty of critters. Our guide was knowledgeable of the areas history and ecology. The tour runs alongside a state bird sanctuary, so plenty of modern flying dinosaurs to see- egrets, herons, ospreys, kites.

This is an outstamding tour of the swamp. Our guide was Jimmy. We saw lots of alligators, turtles and large birds. The cypress trees are quite old and the boat trip takes you thru these beautiful trees. Jimmy was a very knowledgeable guide. Besides knowing all the species of trees and critters, he also told us about the formation of the swamp and history of this unique lake.

The tour was enjoyable and a great way to spend a 10am morning. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable on the area and history. The alligators were very chill on this trip, the temperature was 84F so they were happy to catch some rays. The old growth cypress trees were worth the trip alone. We learned the history of moss, from Henry Ford to duck blinds and learned about a 500 year old cypress trees. The guides kept our attention the whole time and pulled into spots that you could only see with their guides. My mom, son and I had a great time and would recommend this tour if your in the area. Here is a short video from the tour we took on April 16th 2022. I hope you enjoy your time in Louisiana.

This place was recommended by a trusted friend. Sadly, the man who answered the phone was very uninterested in helping me to secure an actual time for my paddle booking. Because I asked to book a paddle at sunset, he took that to mean I wanted a sunset tour. He told me not less than $150 to take 1 person out I said that I have never been charged that for a kayak rental. Then he said ok, kayak rental. It doesn't pay me to stay open for $12 so you can see the sunset. I said ok, what time would work for you, I have to drive in from Dallas. He said how about 1-3. I said great. What do I need to do to secure the deposit? He said I can't make any guarantees about what time I will be here until on Thurs. I said, well how am I supposed to plan/coming from out of town. He said " I suggest you call another kayak company then."

Sign outside the establishment said walk-ins welcome, so we paid for a swamp tour. The guide, Johnathan was friendly and knowledgeable and we hd a great time. I would highly recommend if you would like to spend about an hour cruising around the swamp looking at alligators, turtles, cedars, and birds. We had a great time. Thanks

An awesome tour if the swamp that was a good length for the price. They were super flexible on the time and it's impressive where they manage to fit those tour boats. Highly recommend if you want to see some gorgeous trees and wildlife.
