We kayaked here...not sure why...there were gators around but I heard they leave you alone unless there's baby gators around. Nice paddle. We took the boat tour where we could look them closer...LOTS of them. Great place. Oh, don't get your dog anywhere near the water. They're like candy for the gators.

This is my favorite place to visit when I want to see some wildlife or a gorgeus sunset. You can take boat rides, or just drive along the winding road and see alligators, plentiful birds, and other wildlife common to south LA. The Lake is gorgeus. Lots of trees and views of swamp land. Quiet usually, with some birdwatchers or sportfishers here and there. Watch out for alligators who sneak up on the road, though!

This was our second time to take this tour, and it was as enjoyable as the first. The tour boat goes deep into the swamp where other boats can't travel. We saw a variety of birds, and different sizes of alligators, even a nest of baby alligators. Our tour guide, Bryan, knew just where to go to get the best views of the different wildlife. We had so much fun, we decided to make his tour a part of each visit to Breaux Bridge.

We took a 2 hour swamp tour into lake and swamp. Our guide was Bob who knew lots of facts about the birds, reptiles, plants and animals of the area. Our guide took us nice and slow so we got to soak up the atmosphere as well as see lots of birds.

A quiet and interesting boat trip alongside alligators, blue herons, aigrettes and nutria!
I recommend at sunset especially for pictures.

Kayaked around the lake with my son (lives in Florida) who was visiting for Thanksgiving. Weather was sunny and temperature in the 70’s. Perfect day to get some one on one time in a beautiful setting. Large gators and many birds. Can never get enough of the beautiful cypress trees. My paradise” ❤️

This lake has lots of wildlife and beautiful Cyprus trees. There are gators, turtles, ducks, egrets, snake birds and herons amongst others. Well worth getting a tour - we went with Cajun Country Tours and loved it.
