We wanted to stay somewhere quiet but yet 30 minutes or so from New Orleans. Sites at this park have 30/50 amp electric and water. You can reserve sites, the prices are reasonable, our first night was $28.00, subsequent nights were $22.00. The bathrooms are older but okay. We are self contained so did not use them. There is a... Friendly rangers who will give you tips on local attractions. Quiet park with level small lots. Very clean shower house with thoughtful additions such as wire hangers in the shower. Very clean laundry facilities.

We stayed here for 11 days I'm spot 15. The park employees and rangers were polite and very accommodating. The camp sights were all paved and level with lush grass. Most sights were well shaded with a variety of trees including both large and small trees. The grounds were well maintained. They mowed the grass often and emptied the trash... More

Local State Park is very clean and safe. We did not stay here, but did visit some friends that was camping there, and they really enjoyed it and felt very safe with the park rangers on site

We were only planning on staying one night but ended up coming back for another. They lock the gate at 9pm and there is no after hours check-in. (However there is a code if you have checked in). This park is noisy...and it’s not from people!! The insects, owls, coyotes, and birds do not hold back! Insect spray is a... More

I live on the northshore and stay here when I want to be close to New Orleans. The campground could use some minor updating but all and all the spaces for RV's are nicer then most places. There's several restaurants that have very good food nearby and it's close enough to both chalmette and the city. There's no more pool... More

My husband and I live out of state and we have been coming to St. Bernard State Park since 1998 because we love it so much! The campsites are great and the grounds are incredibly well-maintained and beautiful. It is easy to get to downtown New Orleans from here. It is a safe park with a locked gate at night.... More

We stayed here to play baseball in Chalmette. It's about 20 minutes away. This park was very quiet in April in spot #5. It's a small park & the sites are spacious. The sites are paved & ours was level. The picnic tables are bolted down on a concrete patio, so you don't have to worry about it having been... More
