The Vallarta Botanical Garden was selected by the Canadian Garden Tourism Council in 2013 as one of the "Top 10 North American Gardens Worth Travelling For". - Open 7 days/wk for the months of DEC, JAN, FEB, & MAR (except DEC 25 & JAN 1) - Open 6 days/wk for the months of APR through NOV (closed Mondays) Located just 30 minutes from Old Town Puerto Vallarta. To arrive on your own using public transportation, take the "El Tuito" bus at the corner of Aguacate and Carranza Streets in Puerto Vallarta's Romantic Zone. Tell the bus driver you are going to the Botanical Garden "Jardin Botanico" and he/she will stop right at the Garden's entrance. The same bus offers return service to Puerto Vallarta (PV) with the LAST BUS TO PV AT 6 PM. Yes Vallarta Botanical Gardens are technically out of Vallarta technically though not for residents or tourists . The people of Puerto Vallarta consider the gardens part of Vallarta ! A gorgeous bus ride away .

As I recall the Gardens are open 9 - 5 every day but Monday. They are maybe a 15 minute drive south on 200 from Mismaloya.
