They had an IMAX show in the Planetarium called Dream BIG: Engineering Our World and it was an OK show. They have a number of other shows as well....almost seems if they are selling more movie tickets vs. Planetarium shows. The museum would seem to...More

We spent about 2 hours including a planetarium show. Our son, 12, is really into science, and enjoyed the space displays and hands-on room. The food exhibit was interesting and varied. Food as culture; food as family. food as art. Views of the river from...More

We enjoyed the science part of the museum as well as the art side of the museum. The solar system information was interesting. Then the art part of the museum was something we really enjoyed. My favorite pet was the food in photography section. The...More

This site has an excellent planetarium theatre that shows various movies about the solar system. It also has two large areas with hands on displays on a range of science issues. Our grandkids loved these hands on science areas.

A lot of interesting displays and a fact filled self guided tour. The planetarium had an interesting show about the constellations and galaxies. A very nice location on the Mississippi River with a park and Riverwalk.

We dropped by after checking out the Mississippi River and since we had a reciprocal membership to a science center near home, the price was right. A penny more and it would have been too costly. The recent Inuit exhibit held the very slightest interest...More

Since I was a kid, I’ve loved planetariums and ‘star shows’. While I was in town for a couple days I enjoyed the JOURNEY TO THE STARS presentation here in Baton Rouge science center planetarium. I didn’t have time to see the balance of the...More

The museum was a big disappointment. Lower floor has Cochineal history and the upper floor Egyptian history. These two can be completed in 25 minutes after spending extended amount of time at each. The planetarium is good but the shows are meant for children (narration)...More

Yes , in fact they have an hands on area for smaller children that is great. My son loved it. Additionally the planetarium usually has short child friendly programs that would be fun as well.
