Let me start by saying this is our second time visiting Griffin Charters. Each time is better than expectations! This last trip was with my wife, sister and son. The fishing was awesome, we hit the weather conditions and the fish activity about perfect and our guides knew exactly how and where and to go. Colby, Chris and Gage are three of the best guides we have had the opportunity to fish with and to say they are professional, knowledgeable and driven to exceed expectations is an understatement! Not only did we limit out both days of fishing we also had the opportunity to go after some big fish and not only found them but landed more than one! Just an awesome trip! As usual the food from my favorite chef, Joe, was spectacular and not only is he a great cook but a really nice guy to talk with and share some local knowledge. One last thing the accommodations are outstanding, safe, always clean, generously appointed and did I mention CLEAN. I will be booking again for a fall trip.

My 15 year old daughter and I had a great time with Randy on our ~6 hour fishing charter in early June 2021. Randy, our guide and captain, was extremely knowledgeable about the waters, the fish, and the wildlife, and helped us maximize our fishing experience. We are novices (had never used a non-automatic reel before, and had no experience with popping bobbers) and Randy got us up to speed quickly.
He was also very nice, and fun to hang out with. Highly recommended!

My daughters and I recently spent 2 days fishing at Griffin. Accommodations were very nice as was the people that served us. Boats were top notch, food was good and fishing was a blast. The three of us caught 25 nice fish in two trips. Great quality time with my girls.

Good booking and logistics experience and the electronic communication and billing they use is top notch. We’ve been fishing on our own as a family since our kids were young and then hire experienced guides when we go on vacation in FL and to Mexico. I also book corporate trips with customers for my company and have been using guides for 20+ years and was scouting Griffin for potential use with my business. We’ve always caught fish. We booked a 6 hour trip. They picked us up at our NOLA hotel at 5AM. Rain hit as we got to the lodge so we ended up departing after 7AM. Went to get gas and then bait. Our guide took us to the first spot and my wife caught 1 sheepshead. We went to a couple other spots, switched up bait and rigs and caught nothing else. Weather was rolling in again and the guide headed back to the lodge at 11AM. The other boat that went out caught a bounty of redfish, drum, and sheepshead. We were four people, they were two. There was no offer to take us back out for another couple hours. We were given $100 discount off the $650 charge after I expressed my disappointment with the situation which was the right move on their part. Based on this experience, I would not use this charter again.

This is our 3rd trip to Griffin. The accommodations are amazing, the food is excellent and the guides work hard and put you on the fish. We won’t go anywhere else!
Colby is great to book with, always responsive and makes scheduling easy. Captain Dominick is passionate about fishing and works hard to get you on the fish.

My wife surprised me with a trip with Griffin charters. Easy communication and payment. Easy 30 min drive from New Orleans. Boats, staff, and our guide Randy were fantastic. Breakfast and lunch included. Dinner is an option if you stay in their lodge. We will be back and will stay in the lodge next time. Great fun and caught fish!

Just 30 minutes south of New Orleans is a completely different world, a world of tidal marshes, birds of every variety, and most importantly redfish. Griffin lodge is new, spacious and in the middle of an idyllic fishing community. Their guides are knowledgeable and friendly, and their boats are fully stocked 24' center consoles. We did not want the fishing to end, and when the fishing ended, we did not want to leave the outdoor patio of the lodge. I'd go back tomorrow.

The staff and fishing guide Casey Rojas were very good. Fishing was great. The problem that I has was the overpriced lodging and food. My cousin and I visited there came in on 10 Aug 2014 fished 11 and 12 Aug 2014. The lodging and food bill came to $272.50 each for basically two night lodging in a fish camp and food that while good was certainly not up to the price charged. For $272.50 a night we could have stayed at a premier hotel and eaten and fine restaurants at other locations. I typically stay at Hampton Inn and for less than half this price could have gotten far better lodging. When I initially contacted the owner I was given a price of $500 per day for two people. The additional $272.50 per day was not clarified until the time we checked out on 12 Aug 2014. If all you are looking for is fishing then I recommend the place. Do not stay there and eat off of Styrofoam plates for food that while decent is not worth the money charged.

We are thrilled that you thought "The staff and fishing guide Casey Rojas were very good. Fishing was great."
Our pricing is very clear.
Our standard operating procedure is to send a confirmation email to each customer, and we followed that procedure with you.
On August 1, 2014 we sent you an email that said the following:
(Your Name) The email actually had your name on it but we will not identify you by this email
Arrival Date: 08-10-14
# of Guests: 2
Fishing Date: 08-11-14, 8-12-14
Departure Date: 08-12-14
Total Cost: $1500.00 (375 pp per day)
Your package is all inclusive. We provide lodging, meals and charters. All fuel, oil, bait, ice, rods, reels, tackle, soft drinks and bottled water are provided aboard the boats, you will fish for 6 ½ to 7 hours. Your guide will clean and bag your fish for you upon return to the dock.
***We are holding your reservation with credit card ending in XXXX.
Our cancellation policy is 30 days or you are charged 50%. No shows are charged 100% of the trip. Should Griffin Fishing determine a weather cancellation, you will not be charged. There is a 3% fee added to all credit card transactions. However, you may pay by cash, check or credit card upon departure.
We do offer Day Trips that and that price does not include lodging or meals. Some guest choose that option as they are in New Orleans on a business trip or vacation and this is an outing for a single day. If they choose that option, they arrange transportation to and from our lodge and they arrange for their own meals.
Most people choose the "all inclusive" trip as they arrive at the lodge and have no worries for the next few days. Their guide wakes them up and come into the cookhouse for breakfast, then they walk to our private dock where the boat is waiting. They fish for 6 1/2 to 7 hours and return to our dock. The captain puts their fish on a board for pictures. After pictures and recounting all the great fishing stories the customer comes back to the cookhouse where a delicious cajun meal is waiting for them. And yes we serve on Styrofoam plates, however other customer have commented "this is the best Gumbo I've ever had" or "can I send my wife down here for a week so you can teach her how you cook?" The typical customer will usually hang out on the dock for a while and then head back to his room for an afternoon nap. At 6:30 we serve dinner. All meals are homemade and include desert. After dinner, another round of fish tails and dock time. Some customer will choose for some poker time with their buddies while others turn in for the night
As far as the price. I'm not sure where the figures this customer is quoting came from. The customer said "we could have stayed at a premier hotel and eaten and fine restaurants at other locations" .According to him, he paid $1000 for 2 days of fishing and he and his friend each paid $272.50 additional (not per day). $45.00 of that was 3% added to the bill because they used a credit card. So for $500.00 total they each received 2 nights lodging, breakfast, lunch and dinner for two days, unlimited soft drinks and bottled water. I'm not sure where 2 people can stay at a Premier hotel, and have 6 meals at fine restaurants for $500.00????
That's not how they were charged as you can see from the confirmation email, but it it were... I'm thinking these guys got a lot for their money!

Our experience here was excellent. Our group of six drove down from Missouri to fish two days and stay two nights at Griffin Fishing Charters. From the minute we arrived – and throughout our stay – we were impressed with the friendliness and hospitality of the owners and everyone on staff. James and Rosemary, the owners, made sure that we had everything we needed. The resort truly felt like a home-away-from-home!
We were very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of our room. There were also several nice common areas for groups to gather including the dining hall, screened in porches, and picnic tables on the dock. Near the rooms is the cookhouse, where we walked over for all of our meals. The home cooked food was absolutely fantastic, and we certainly never left a meal hungry! We enjoyed red beans and rice, jambalaya, and crawfish ѐtoufѐe. The cook Tracy was very polite and very accommodating, as one person in our group had a food allergy (we just let them know prior to arriving).
As for the fishing experience…FANTASTIC! During both days the three ladies in our group went with Captain Casey and the three men went with Captain Colby. We came to the conclusion that both of these guides could have navigated the bayou blindfolded! They were so nice, fun to talk to, and extremely knowledgeable. The ladies boat needed a little more assistance than the guys, and Captain Casey was extremely patient and helpful. We enjoyed learning about the bayou and other interesting local information as we fished. Both days of our guided fishing trip were huge successes, and even though the weather forecast was not optimal, Captains Colby and Casey made sure we were safe and put us on the fish! We caught our limits of red fish plus reeled in a few other types of fish. We recommend Griffin Fishing Charters for fishermen of all skill levels, and we can’t wait to go back!

I have an elderly friend who wanted to go red fishing in Louisiana. He wanted to take me because I love to fish, my husband doesn't. So I got online found Griffin Lodge and it was the best descision made. Not disappointed at all. The most fun I have ever had fishing. And yes we went catching!!The first day was a little slow but we got our limit of Reds by noon. The second day, oh wow!!! We had our limit by 8:00 AM!!!! The food was great and the company was too. We were the only two at the lodge for the two days we were there, so we had undivided attention. Capt. Colby was great. He was patient with us and put us on the fish. We will be going again!!!! I would love to take my two sons, they would love it.
The best part of the trip was all we had to do was walk on the boat and off the boat. Everything else was taken care of for us. Fish put on board for photos, taken down, cleaned how we wanted them, and bagged and iced.
