    Informational and concise.
Beautiful place! Good information was given too. It was a pretty steep hill going down, but I think they can help people with that. The history was fascinating. There was about 15-20 people in the group. The tour guide spoke loudly and inside he/she had microphones. The tasting was good as well. There was no time for chit chat or people joking around. The tour must go on. Pay attention.

    A wonderfully relaxing experience
Because of the many days of rain in TN during our roadtrip, we had to cancel our tour, but did enjoy the cocktail bar and gift shop. The drive to the distillery is gorgeous. The manicured fields and horses was breathtaking . The gift shop offers a variety of bourbons, accessories, food stuffs, and shirts. The fireplace is the perfect place to snap a picture with friends. The cocktail lounge across the street was sophisticated and serene. We ordered and enjoyed the porch swing and the double-oaked old fashioned in rocking chairs. on the lawn.

Great tour... great bourbon... need better apparel
Great history on grounds and good tour. Good job 👍🏻 Beth (guide). Great tasting and love the Double Oaked. Would have loved if the gift shop had better apparel, but got some good gifts.

    Favorite distillery
Ok so this is a review for a visit in late July and we enjoyed ourselves so much we came back in August! I really have to thank Kane and his wife at the cocktail bar for such great Hospitality. I highly recommend Drew and the bartending staff outside the cocktail building - Drew's drinks were on point each and every time! We will be back in a few weeks :)

    A bourbon must
As you work your way along the Bourbon Trail, when visiting Kentucky, please do not miss the Premier distillery on the tour Woodford reserve. It’s a little tough to get to, but well worth the trip. The distinction that this distillery has made versus other distilleries regarding their product is the best I’ve seen so far.

Woodford Reserve distillery and setting is stunning!
This distillery is in a beautiful setting in the Kentucky countryside. It was fascinating to hear how they have been making bourbon the same way for over 100 years… especially compared to a more modern distillery like Bulleit. They keep the tour groups small which made it so much more inviting. Tour guides did an outstanding job as well. You won’t get tipsy at the tasting, but you will absolutely enjoy it. The gift shop was great also, we bought t-shirts and a barrel top that was shipped to the house in only a couple of days… still charred on the inside. Highly recommend!

    Great tour through the grounds!
One of the best combos of grounds and yours we took at all the places we visited. The grounds were fabulous and your was even better. The guide was knowledgeable and did a great job explaining everything. The tasting was also good. Gift shop had a few bottles of distillery select bottles to purchase. We really enjoyed our visit here and would come back again!

Great tour guide and informative tour
We have been on a few tours and learned a bit more on this one. Our tour guide, Jamie was great! He was attentive, creative, informative and very helpful. Thank you for your additional recommendations they were great! Appreciated the Bourbon laws broken down by the alphabet A-G. Makes it much easier to remember. We also did the Mixology class and while I'm not a real Bourbon drinker, I loved the Bread Pudding Old Fashioned and the Double Oak Old Fashioned. If you get a chance definitely go to the Cocktail lounge and order one. We were excited because the bourbon drinker in our house has celiac disease do the Bread Pudding is an option he can drink and enjoy since we can't have the original bread pudding. How about a bourbon cinnamon roll recipe? Shared that the spiced cherry bitters work well in a pepsi/coke to have a cherry coke. I did that on the way back on our trip and it was very good and I will definitely do that again. Overall, this tour definitely ranked in our top 2 of the several we have done

    Made for a good day
Stopped by at the last minute and barely made the tour. The tour was interesting/informative. Tony, our guide, was very knowledgeable and we appreciated his enthusiasm and passion for the distillery and its product. We had a member of our party with mobility problems and Tony made our tour possible, enjoyable and memorable.

My husband and I had a very bad experience during the tasting at this distillery. Wow the distillery it’s self is extremely nice and clean and well kept up our experience during the tasting it was far from perfect. We were put on a tour bus and shut all that down a hill from the visitor center to a small room where we did our tasting. Everything seemed OK at first except there were not enough seats for the amount of people in the tasting. We had to stand for probably 20 to 25 minutes in one place. The room was extremely hot and there was no where to put our winter coats. We had to throw them on the floor. Our tasting guide Kaitlyn was Was very knowledgeable and did a very good job under the circumstances. She also had to put her coat on the floor which I thought was just absolutely ridiculous. The place is unfortunately riddled with people coming from tour buses. Most of them had extreme body odor and you could tell they’ve been sitting on the bus marinating most of the day. The bourbon itself is just OK. Do you self a favor and go to the liquor store and pick up a bottle if you really want to do the tasting. It was $12 for the tasting but the experience was absolutely horrible.

I recently did the tour and tasting at Woodford Reserve Distillery on a Tuesday. I found the experience to be just average, but it isn't entirely the distillery's fault. I just feel like so many of the Bourbon Trail distilleries become similar after a while, even the items sold in the gift shops. The tour was informative and interesting, but I felt like the tours were starting to get repetitive. My tour guide was really good, however, and he is clearly passionate about his job. The tasting at the end was really nice, and I enjoyed the 3 bourbons we got to try, followed by a cranberry-lemonade cocktail. The chocolate pecan candy was a nice touch for cleansing the palette. I went across the street to the separate bar for a quick cocktail following the tour/tasting, and it was just OK. I thought $17 was very pricey for an old-fashioned, even if I did get to keep the copper glass (it wasn't even filled halfway!). The drive to/from here was very pretty, and I enjoyed the country setting amongst many horse farms. I would recommend, but all the distilleries started to feel very similar for me.

We spent several days touring the Bourbon distilleries. We would would rate Woodford as the least enjoyable. The tasting cost $25 per person. The sample pours so we’re so small they evaporated before we could taste them. We got three samples of bourbon. That’s it. Not worth it.

Having just recently acquired a taste for bourbon, I was excited to do a mini adventure in Lexington and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail on the way to Florida. We were naive to the fact that tours and tastings book three months in advance. After seeing Woodford was sold out the week before departure I checked again on a whim a few days later and low and behold there were 3 opening for a combination tour/testing! I grabbed two and moved our trip from Michigan up a half day to ensure we’d arrive on time. Great tour and our guide was humorous and very knowledgeable. The tasting was great, though I had hoped to sip their wheat version. We did a lot of Christmas shopping in their gift store - especially when we realized we could have a bottle of bourbon or whiskey engraved for $7 with only a ten minute wait. Then onto Makers Mark and Bardstown!

The distillery sits in a very beautiful location and has some amazing views. The tour included three samples. Woodford reserve small batch, the Woodford reserve wheat whiskey and the Rye whiskey. Price of your $32 tour ticket also included a mixed spiced cocktail sample and a bourbon ball. One thing I really liked about Woodford Reserve was the ability to engrave bottles on site (An additional $7 or $10). We bought a few for gifts to take home. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. The prices at the distillery were very similar to the liquor store in Louisville later on our trip. We would definitely recommend Woodford Reserve on your Bourbon Trail tour.

Beautiful grounds and great tasting spirits. We did not have a tour so that maybe have made it a little different experience. But the bar to get drinks is across the street from the gift shop, and it has a very limited menu with the cheapest option being $17 with a souvenir cup. The drinks were good but would have appreciated a lower entry cost without the take home cup. Not that crowded and outdoors so ventilated it’s a nice stop on the bourbon trail just one I wouldn’t stay long as other places were more enticing

We were only able to do a tasting and gift shop visit due to Covid. The tasting was excellent even though they were out of Double Oak. Double oak was out main objective sadly. The tasting lady was excellent and gave us a taste of a bourbon that isn’t available to anyone. This was to make up for the outage of double oak. Highly recommend

The tour was pretty average except that we got to go into the mash room and people were able to walk through with no masks. It is the only distillery on our tour that did not require participants to wear a mask when indoors. It was unnerving. The bourbon was good, but the pours were very small and it was hard to take the three recommended sips. Lack of covid protocols detracted from the tour.

We did not have tour reservations but we wanted to visit. We drove out to Woodford and I have to say the drive is beautiful, stunning farm lands. Unfortunately that was the highlight for us. When we arrived we went to the gift store and were disappointed as it was mainly stocked with their regular Bourbon that we can get home at our local liquor store. I was hoping to maybe get a Derby bottle or something special but that was not an option. They also had some very expensive Derby hats, I appreciated seeing those but it would have been nice to have more of a selection at the store. We asked about tours and we were told we had to go to another desk to see if anything was available. We ended up not waiting to find out if tours were available as it wasn't the most welcoming place. We went outside and saw a tour group heading down the hill. I am sure the tour would have been good but we just weren't feeling very welcome.
