There was so many beautiful Buddha's and things to see, beautiful view of the sea and looking back at Hua Hin. I loved relaxing near the lake too. So many things to see. Great place to visit.

A must visit.

Beautiful temple. Lots to see. There are staff to tell you where to go. Toilets clean. Quite a lot of steps but not that hard to get up. Good views over beach & fishing village.

Tranquility with great views
Sep 2019
Visited Wat Khao Tao twice in Sept, 1st time I went alone & 2nd time with friends from UK. Quite an easy place to find at the end of Khao Tao, just past the lake. Most of the walk is quite flat until you reach the golden turtle.
If you want to see the Octagon Pavilion & Golden Buddha, be prepared for a 10min climb, the 1st stage is concrete steps, but the latter to the Buddha is forest ground, The views from the Buddha provide breathtaking views over Khao Tao, Suan Son & Khao Takiab beach bays.... take plenty of water & a camera.

is ok to go there if you are in Hua Hin
Sep 2018
A very quiet place, nothing special, but you also do nothing wrong. Just 15 minutes by car from Hua Hin.
You can walk (5min) up to the big Buddha, which is on top pf the hill. If the weather is good, you have a nice few to Hua Hin. The beach is also very nice there. Better as in Hua Hin, white sand. You can also sit there to have a drink.

Interesting place
Jun 2019 • Couples
Even if you generally have no interest in temples, this one is extraordinary and worth a visit. The temple complex is located on the hillside of Wat Tham Khao Tao. The views of the Gulf of Thailand are beyond beautiful and you can see Hua Hin as it fades away to the north. The various shrines and the temple have an mix of Thai and Chinese influences. There are small hollows and caves featuring images of Buddha along with carvings of numerous important historical figures. If you are not in the mood to climb the step leading to the top of the hill, you can simply relax and enjoy the breezes of the sea at the sala you will find right next to the turtle shrine. Do not want to miss the views.

Loy Krathong Festival At Khao Tao Lake
Nov 2018 • Couples
Amazing Loy Krathong Festival on November 22, 2018 at Khao Tao Lake, 15 km south of Hua Hin town center. There was a huge crowd of local Thai people but also many foreign visitors. I did enjoy a beautiful evening with my wife and friends, there was plenty of food, music, wonderful Krathongs and a fantastic decoration on Khao Tao Lake, indeed a perfect location to celebrate this traditional festival.

Interesting Buddhist Temple
Nov 2018 • Solo
I really enjoyed visiting this temple! There’s quite a lot to see here! There’s an interesting museum up a few flights of stairs! A huge golden Buddha where, for a small donation, you can make an offering to Buddha and ask for a blessing! It’s a great view of the coastline from the top! The temple on the lake is a great photo op!! Make sure to dress modestly and remove your shoes when entering the temples!
It’s just s very short trip from Hua Hin 10 - 15 minutes by car!
There’s no ghastly monkeys to contend with!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

A Temple with magic
Jun 2018 • Friends
We visited this temple by recommendation from a local. We searched for a LP Thuad Lang Pidta amulet made by Lava stone.
The Abbott Luang Phor Deang used some tactics like dipped finger to acid, and other techniques to convince disciples regarding the Kongrapan power of the amulet.
This approach is commonly used by road side practisional. This was like an amateur practise. By doing so, jet up the price of the amulet from 2000Baht to 10,000Baht.
We felt was not a correct approach by the Chief Abbott.
Other than that, the temple still worth visiting.

Lots of shrines and Buddha statues
Jul 2018 • Couples
This is a lovely place to visit about 13kms south of Hua Hin, on the coast this little fishing village has it’s own mystique and beauty.
There is a Chinese Temple here as well as the Thai one.
There is a lot to see and a bit of walking to do up and down steps etc.
The Temple has been built right on the side of the hill so it’s foundations are the massive rocks of the mountain.
There are many shrines and Buddha images to see here, must have been hard work putting it all together.
High up on the hill you get great views of the lovely coastline, bad luck their is no information in English there so one could find out a bit of the history of the place.
If your in the area a must place to visit.
