Such a peaceful afternoon on Harrods Creek! The scenery was beautiful and we had the creek mostly to ourselves until about 3:00. The “path” is easy but you must paddle ; no current to carry you. Definitely will go again!

We always have a good time when we rent canoes and kayaks here, friendly staff and good equipment. The website to reserve is easy to use (and more importantly accurate regarding what’s available to rent ), just Check your email after reserving because there are the usual waivers you need to sign, but it’s online and easy.
The creek is on average 40ft wide and generally smooth conditions. There are a few shallow spots but those are welcome breaks and the areas are worth exploring. Plenty of twists and turns and low hanging things and it really is a perfect place for beginners for those not used to paddling.
I recommend you check the water levels in the river to make sure you have a good time.
The four hour rentals are perfect for little kids and there’s a lot of shade on the river on hot days. Lots of turtles, birds, frogs, deer and fish to amuse everyone.
If you bring your own canoe there’s a five dollar ‘drop’ fee, which is more than fair all things considered.
Bring Sunscreen AND bug repellent (better to have and not need …) , and we’ve always had good times we go within a few days of it raining for the obvious reasons.

The staff at Nachland are great! Helpful and polite. We enjoyed our 4 hour rental, but being novices, went a little too far up the creek and had to really hustle to get back in time! Totally our fault - we'll know better next time. Also, be aware that there's not really an easy place to get out and stretch your legs. Harrod's Park has an easily missed "put-in" along the creek, but there isn't a place to beach your kayak - at least not on the stretch we kayaked. Otherwise we had a great time and highly recommend Nachland!

Such a fun trip! I’ve never kayaked so was really afraid I couldn’t do it, but the staff were so joyful in helping me! They were so encouraging and kind! We were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed our 4 hour trip! No one fell in the water, but being a planner, I had purchased a dry bag from Dick’s Sporting Goods for $15 to put our phones and car keys inside. Don’t let it stop you if you’re overweight either, the kayaks can hold 300 pounds and are quite stable to be in. The staff help you get in and out of the boat safely and joyfully! I’m not even being sarcastic, they were great! Being on the water was peaceful, as Harrods Creek is very still water. We saw lots of turtles and birds, neat birds nests under the bridge, and just lush greenery all around! Also, we were told not to leave anything of value in our car because there have been break-ins up under the bridge. We had no problem but just letting unaware visitors know. Highly recommend this business!

Easy to find, stay as long or as little as you choose. Nice and peaceful. Could have used more instruction on finding the waterfall area. Kind staff , easy paddling

The owners were super friendly and completely understanding when we got back way later than planned because we misunderstood long it would take. Highly recommend !!

Friendly, informative, and well-cared for equipment

I have been to kayak several times with different groups. It has always been a great experience. The equipment is clean and sanitized - the staff is professional and nice- and Harrods is pretty and lots to see. Follow up with dinner on the river at Captains Quarters and you have A perfect day.

This was a great place for Kayaking. The staff ( Elisa) was so helpful. I plan to return for another fun kayak experience. If you want a fun activity to so, I recommend you make a reservation at Nachand.

I have passed their location and sign many times without ever realizing what was there. I wanted to go Kayaking over the holiday so I went online to make a reservation. I thought I had put in for Monday and the time I wanted but when it confirmed, it gave me a Tuesday confirmation day and time. I called and Forrest answered the phone and was very helpful and polite. He explained that someone would resolve my issue and get back with me. The owner (I assume) emailed me with options for my reservation which ended up working out fine. We arrived and were helped in and out of our kayaks with no issue.
We took the four hour trip and the route was easy to navigate and not many areas too shallow to go through. There was a lot of traffic on the creek so many were taking advantage of the holiday and the beautiful weather but it made for a little congestion along the way in some points.
The workers spoke of a park about 2 hours in but we aren't sure if we ever found it. A guide map might be helpful in the future. We did encounter two different boats with motors about an hour into our trip and it didn't appear to be an area that a boat with a motor should go since it was shallow and there were many canoes and kayaks in their path.
We had an excellent time and enjoyed the route as well as the staff. I will definitely be going again.
Parking is limited but they emailed me letting me know the parkling lot was full and where there was alternative parking (which wasn't far). I was glad they did because the driveway to their location is gravel and narrow so not something you want to go down only to not find any parking. The pricing is very reasonable so make sure and tip your staff!
