This place is so interesting! So much to see and read. Its a very large, hilly area. I visited with my husband who cannot walk too far without rest (disabled vet). Anyone in a wheelchair or that has difficulty walking will not be able to get to many of the marked sites and informational signs. Some points of interest can... More

This was one of the most costly battles of the Civil War....nearly 9000 were either killed, wounded or listed as missing from this battle that was the last time the Confederacy moved into Kentucky. Unfortunately, I visited in March and on a Sunday and the museum was not open. So, after sitting in the car and researching the battle on... More

Perryville Battlefield Historic Site is an interpretive museum that tells of the battle that was the South's last serious attempt to gain possession of Kentucky. The site offers a museum and video dramatizing the battle.

This is my second review of Perryville, and is considered an addendum to what I posted previously. Since my first visit here in Dec, 2014, even more land has been acquired and more descriptive markers installed to an already well-marked battle site that, according to a lady who works here, retains 85 percent of its 1862 appearance. It took me... More

Very interesting museum and video of the biggest civil war battle in Kentucky. We walked the trails with signs describing the events that took place at each location and the soldiers involved in the battles.

We were there for the National Reenactment of the Battle of Perryville. The Battlefield is in the process of being restored to its native plantings, so it will appear as it did during the actual battle. The Civil War Trust is involved with the restoration of Battlefields and it shows at Perryville. If you tour the Battlefield, go by foot... More

We visited here on a Sunday morning and arrived around 10:30 before the visitor's center and museum was open. They open at 11:00. We took a look around at the various markers on the battlefield and then moved on. I had read that this was the largest Cival War battlefield in KY.

Driving or walking the grounds and reading the plaques and observing the cemetery brings grief, but what war isn't sad. This is overwhelming to try to imagine the number of deaths and the details of battle, and it's effect on the everyone. The museum is a must see, but be prepared for deep seated emotions to surface when you watch... More

Great museum and video to the biggest battle in the civil war in Kentucky. Staff was outstanding and the sites around the park are great. Watch for the heat it gets crazy.

We visited on June 30, 2016. The battlefield is huge with informative signs and old monuments. Unlike many other Civil War sites, the battlefield has not been overtaken by commercial and residential development. It is a must-see for history lovers.
