- dustythoughtsManchester, Connecticut1,944 contributionsQuiet, upscale shopping areaI came here in the evening with colleagues after dinner to walk off our meal and window-shop before we headed back to our hotel. There's a movie theater, a Barnes & Noble, hotels, a few upscale restaurants and shops, and an aquarium. Everything is pretty compact and walkable, which was nice. It's right on the Ohio River, so in nicer weather you can sit and enjoy the view of downtown Cincinnati and the water. I expected there to be more people here, as it was approaching the holidays, but it was relatively quiet. To be fair, maybe this is more of a warm-weather activity, and it was overcast when we were here. Also, when we passed by the AMC Theater, we saw a sign saying that the theater was undergoing renovations.Visited November 2019Written June 25, 2020
- ARS62 contributionsA great place for an evening on the townWith several dining options throughout the facility and a variety of purveyors of alcoholic beverages in the Bridgeview Box Park, Newport on the Levee can provide an excellent location for your date night, girls' night, or boys' night. With a large parking garage, there is no worry about finding a space. The official Levee restrooms could use an upgrade, but they are functional. If you are an FC Cincinnati fan, you can catch the Orange and Blue on the big screen near the Box Park as the Levee is an official watch-party location. And the Levee is also home to the Newport Aquarium, which tends to be a hit with the younger crowd.Visited August 2022Written August 22, 2022
- Thomas & Susan C14 contributions"Quaint little place with nice view of Cincinnati"It was a nice little place to sit and relax and enjoy the view of cincinnati - especially at night...the view can't be beat! Nice little food trucks in the Bridgeview area in front of the Aquarium. We were waiting to go on the BBRiverboats (which I don't recommend) and were early so we just hung out here. Had the best banana smoothie at one of the food trucks and some really good fudge at the candy shoppe!Visited July 2020Written July 22, 2020

I my opinion Newport on the Levee went downhill. My wife and I used to go here all the time and go to the Starbucks above the Barnes and Noble. You could sit inside on a hot summer day or on a cold winter day and enjoy a view of the river and Cincinnati. No there is o place to do that. Dewey's pizza and all the good restaurants are gone and for us there's no reason to go here anymore. We did check out the remodeled Levee, but it wasn't anything that appealed to us. We used to travel to the Levee from Dayton at least once a month or more and now we've been once since the demolition of the old Levee began. It used to be one of our favorite spots, but not anymore.

Several times over the years my daughter and I have visited and enjoyed Newport on the Levee. This time I failed to research first, which is totally my own fault. What was once a variety of restaurants, street performers and such has become mostly a giant AMC movie theater and a big pile of construction. The whole place is taking on a "come here to drink beer" atmosphere, which is fine, but not what we were expecting and not what I remember from before. It's a shame, but here it is.

Dont wast your money. Not upscale, not exciting and not user friendly. No clear signs for direction found. If you like getting lost and going up lots of stairs this is the place for you. I finally found security and ask for assistance in the garage. The guy acted like he was doing me a favor just speaking to me. He said they would send someone to help me. After an hour they never showed up. So lf something happens you need help in the parking lot dont expect it It is not handicapped friendly. This is on the do not visit list for me.

Filthy theatre. We spent an hour in parking garage trying to figure out the color code and directional arrows. No signs as to which street to exit. Our shoes stuck to carpet from the filth.. Only two people working the snack counters with endless line of customers. Finally got a fountain drink that tasted like a combination of coke some unknown chemical. Asked a security guard in basement garage for direction and he was useless. We will not be returning. Tried paying for parking as signs indicated and most of the machines were not working. Had to go back up another level to find one that worked on to be told you can pay on the way out.

The place was changed it used to have more places to eat but now more like for people to drink and party. It is a nice walk along the River, but you have to climb several flights of steps. Yes the theatre is new to me, but I had To go check this. The aquarium is always great fir the kids there is an ice cream store and a candy store fir kids plus 5 men and a-burger.

Maybe because it's the time of the year (to give it the benefit of the doubt) but when I ventured here last week, not only was it a ghost town, there was literally nothing remotely close to worth seeing, checking out or halfway decent to even experience. Yes, there's the aquarium but that wasn't my purpose for checking this place out. There was an art gallery that was closed. Other than the restaurants, which I didn't even bother trying, there was just the movie theater and a very uninteresting arcade. What few shops I saw not only appeared run down, they're downright shoddy... uninspiring and a total waste of time.
On the plus side, there's a nice view of Cincinnati across the Ohio River. Also, I can imagine the riverwalk as something of a draw during the warmer months. Perhaps, that might entice others, BUT....
All in all, it's not for me.

This is one of the prettiest areas I’ve visited. We walked around after visiting the aquarium and I really loved everything that was offered! There’s tons of little bar stalls, restaurants and shopping in this area, making it worth the time to stop and look around. There’s also a stunning view of the bridge and skyline of Cincinnati, making it perfect for hanging out, walking or pictures. Definitely recommend stopping if in the area!

Been to the levee several times in the past year for the aquarium and a few movies. The aquarium is OK but overpriced and the theater is NASTY dirty we actually saw a rat scurrying the hallway. Seems like the place is 90% empty now and has struggled to keep tenants even when it was at its peek! They should demo the whole facility and make it a park.....retail is officially dead and this mall is the perfect example!!

This is a nice area of bars, restaurants and shops right next to the aquarium. We were there in a Friday night and there was live music. It is nice to sit outside, enjoy your favorite beverage or ice cream while having a nice view of the river and downtown Cincinnati! There is public parking and public restrooms.

A suburb of Cincinatti, this is just far enough away from the bustle of downtown to give a small town vibe. Nice variety of amenities, eats and activities. Love the aLoft on the Levee to stay, as you can walk everywhere. Looking forward to coming back in warmer weather when the boats are out!
