When I looked this up it said open 24 hours, however that isn't completely true. While the bell can be seen 24 hours, you can't go into the building that actually takes you up by the bell. It was pretty cool though.

This is an interesting site with several monuments besides the gigantic bell that towers over everything else. Allow about 15-20 minutes including parking to see everything.

The bell is really large, about twelve feet diameter. Evidently it was the largest swinging bell in the world until ten or twelve years ago. It is a neat landmark, and worth viewing if nearby, but I personally would not make a special trip out...More

There is not that much to see. It is more of a quick stop when coming or going elsewhere. The bell tower is modern, but the low hanging power lines diminish the look. That is a city issue for Newport.

A giant bell with a small 9/11 rememberance memorial next to it. The bell is amazingly large and it’s across from a picturesque courthouse. Short walk from the Newport tourist trap. Check out the steps to Bart’s Bar too.

Our urban forestry group got to tour the peace bell. They gave us a talk about it and then we got to ring it. Very neat experience. The making of it was also very amazing. It’s not too loud but has a very deep and...More

In Newport, KY; just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. When I visited it was cold so I was the only one there. The one guy on site unlocked the doors for me so I could walk right up to the bell. The newspaper articles...More

Happened to run across this unique exhibit while driving to our hotel. Stopped to look and spent about 35 -45 minutes reading and looking at the displays. Had to touch a piece of the twin towers from 9/11 and pay respects to the fallen first...More
