As a train enthusiast I was expecting a lot more. I understand that they had a flood a while ago that devistated their property, which is not something that can be helped so nothing against them. I do think it was a good move that they lowered the price of the museum to reflect the fact that it had been... More

Thank you for visiting the Kentucky Railway Museum. Yes, we did receive significant flood damage from high water received in May 2010. We are still awaiting funds from Fema so that we may build a new building. The engine 309 from which you were riding behind is awaiting a new paint job and we hope to have that finished before... Took the 2 PM excursion from New Haven to Boston KY and back on July 22, 2014. First of all, had the chance to explore the museum, which quite frankly was a little disappointing. I understand though, that they had a flood in the area and had lost some of their museum displays - and are now just starting to... More

You are correct we did suffer significant damage from a flood which occurred in May of 2010 as of this review we are still awaiting funds from Fema so that we may construct a new building. The runaround in Boston is routine unless we are doing a pull pull with two engines. Your comment about the air conditioning may be... More

After reading other reviews, I was a little nervous about our planned trip. I don't know what the other reviewers were expecting. We had a GREAT day. My kids loved the museum (especially playing with the 4 different toy train tables). The scenery of rural Kentucky was beautiful. My kids watched for water and were excited about the bridges. The... As a Kentucky native and a history enthusiast, my expectations of the Kentucky Railway Museum were fairly high. I understand that the area was devastated by a bad flood four years ago which may have been a reason for the underwhelming contents of the museum itself, which did consist of some fascinating antiques but for the most part was model... I apologize for your discomfort on the train ride. I believe the coach that you are referring to has since been pulled from service and off to be refurbished. Your comment about the intercom system just recently happened and has since been addressed. Our conductors now have wireless mics that they are now wearing. Our tickets are available on line... The train car was "vintage" meaning that it was well worn. The windows are either dirty or the glass is old and fogged which made it hard to see out. The trees grow along the tracks so closely that you don't get to see much scenery except for occasional breaks of farmland. Its ok with me it that is historically... More

We apologize for the appearance of the car you were in; based on your description that is a car that has now been pulled from the line-up. We service families and children of all ages and the children love it so I don't understand your comment. Also if you are a group of 5 or more you should try and... More

Traveling the rails at 25 mph was an experience. From New Haven to Boston was filled with open corn fields and beautiful scenery. Talking with men/women who were part of the train robbery was enjoyable. Children aboard were having a great time when the train was suddenly robbed and we were asked to give our money. Event was for Crusade... More

We took our child to a Curious George event advertised on a cartoon yrs ago. Thinking this would be a nice train ride, we were a bit disappointed, well at least I was. The character only is on the outside walking around a bit. The train smelled stinky as another person wrote...and it was hot, and dusty. They had some... More

I am very confused about your response. You said you visited in May 2013. Curious George was here many years ago. We have lots of families who visit our attraction for our kid friendly events and have a wonderful time. I am sorry ylou were dissapointed. Thank you for your comments. More

We did not take a train ride, we just went through the museum. What was on display was a bit disappointing; there was not much to it. Maybe the train ride would have been more entertaining.

We are sorry that our museum did not meet your expectations. We have discounted our museum admission to $3.00 while we are doing renovations. Another model lay out is on its way. We suffered a flood in 2010 and much of our model layouts were destroyed; It has been a slow process. We hope you took the opportunity to view... More

A friend purchased tickets and couldn't go so we took three of our grand kids ages 2, 5 and 6. What a mistake!! It takes 1 1/2 hours and is way too long even for adults. The train barely creeps along and at night, there is nothing to see until you reach "the North Pole". During this 45 minutes, they... More

I apologize for not getting a response to you before now. Our business is just now getting set up with Trip Advisor. The trip... More
