Great mill, good location and a perfect spot for a picnic and to stretch your legs as you’re traveling. They do mill demonstrations, so check out their Facebook page to see if they are milling when you go by. There’s a gift shop and a restroom nearby as well as walking trails and a picnic table. A must stop if you’re traveling through!

Visited the restored grain mill at Mill Springs KY with my son. The mill was closed but we could see how the water fed the mill wheel and the grinding apparatus. The site is well maintained however in wet weather the paths are steep and slick. Visiting here on a warm summer day would be great.

World's largest overshot working waterwheel. Tours available and corn still ground into cornmeal. Area discovered by Daniel Boone and he thought it would be good place for a mill due to the 13 springs. Picnic tables, springs and waterfalls, public restrooms and a gift shop. The gift shop sells Kentucky Proud products and meal that is ground at mill. Delicious! Civil War historical site. Cornbread festival on Saturday before Memorial Day and Heritage festival on Labor Day weekend. A great place for all ages. My family enjoys taking photos here with the beautiful lake back ground. You can access this area by Hwy 1275 or by boat near Conley Bottom on Lake Cumberland.

If you are in eastern Kentucky I would recommend stopping to see the Mill Springs Mill. The Mill dates back to 1817 and is a working piece of history sitting on Lake Cumberland. The Mill is currently run on holiday weekends during the summer and is a very interesting thing to witness. Billy Brown gave a tour while I was there that was extremely informative and entertaining. You can buy corn meal ground at the mill at the gift shop. You can access the Mill from the lake via the boat dock or from the road. There are also picnic, day use areas and restrooms in the park. Beautiful views of the lake, streams and Mill make great pictures.

Small area but very lovely and with some historical importance.
The mill was not working during our visit but it was still impressive.
There are multiple little waterfalls and a tall one.
The place is certainly lovely but and you descend to the lake you'll find a lot of plastics, various obstructions that remind you that nobody has been taking care of this place for some time.
what a pity.

This is by far one of the most historic, scenic, and serene places to visit in the Lake Cumberland Area. I have visited the park for many, many years and look forward to the visit each time. I went there many times during childhood, maybe for a picnic, a shaded walk, or for a drink of fresh spring water. Also,my 2 children loved Mill Springs wading in the streams, throwing rocks in the water or getting a snack from The Gift Shop. I suggest everyone to stop by for a visit and schedule a time to watch the water wheel in motion. It's a priceless experience for anyone! This is definitely a place worth the visit.

Visited here in summer.
It wasn’t turning on the day we were there but it was still worth going.
You could see some of the mechanisms inside the mill.
The area around it is very scenic and there a historic house next to it.
The gift shop is staffed by local volunteers and has a good selection of stock.

I've been here twice; once in summer and once in winter. It's not really open in the winter, but judging by the tracks in the snow when I went, plenty of people stop by anyway. There is street parking available at the historic house by the road, and stairs that lead down to main parking lot and mill area. It's a lovely place for a picnic lunch and a little history. There are a number of waterfalls coming down in the same area, and of course the big mill and water wheel. You can walk down to the river's edge (which I didn't do) or out to the point and look out over the Cumberland River, where there is also a historic cannon. There are lots of picnic spots. And if you time it right, you can get a tour of the mill and watch it work. There are lots of steps! It's not for someone with trouble walking.

Come out the state park road and take the highway (127) toward Rowena; you should be traveling southbound but I'm not sure if that road is N/S or E/W. Head toward the dam -- crossing that ought to be fun. Stay on 127 and go around to the other side of the lake (If you could see all the way across you'd see the state park!). When you get to Snow, KY, the road should turn into Hwy 90. Take 90 through Monticello. At the eastern edge of Monticello after you pass Walmart is a traffic light or a couple, maybe they added an extra one for the other shops, mexican restaurant and the chinese buffet. Turn left onto 1275, you should see a sign for the airport and for Conley Bottom Dock unless someone took them down. Pass the airport access and follow the curvy road through the Fall Creek area and Conley Bottom Dock road into the Mill Springs area, it will be on the left. If you miss the turn and get past Monticello, you can just watch for 1275 to rejoin 90. You won't have to backtrack too far to get to the springs. (Also, it is hard to see but on the opposite side of highway 90, catty-corner from the little cutesy house where 1275 rejoins 90 further to the east of Monticello, there is a cool marker about Daniel Boone camping there.) WATCH THAT TURN NEAR THE WATER PLANT, IT'S A DOOZY.
