About
The Belle of Louisville is the oldest operating Mississippi River style steamboat in the world. She and her sister vessel, the Mary M. Miller riverboat offer river cruises perfect for all ages. We offer cruises nearly year-round, and have special events throughout the season. The Mary M. Miller replaced the Spirit of Jefferson in July of 2017. She is named after the First Female Steamboat Captain. The Mary M Miller is not a steamboat but she does have a paddlewheel. She is climate controlled and has 2 indoor decks and a top deck under cover but open air.

My husband and I took the 2 hour sunset tour and it was a great time. Temperature and bag checks before we got on board and our picture was taken as well. Pictures were $7 a piece and staff brought them around later. Concession stand and bar on board with all the goodies you could possibly need. Fantastic band playing old time tunes could be heard on any of the deck levels. Highly recommend a table at the very front or back of decks 2 or 3. Went an hour east on the Ohio River. Many unique houses to see. A little bit of a narration about the sites and river would be have been nice, but overall a great and relaxing boat ride. Crew was very friendly.

This was a nice cruise on the Mary M. Miller and definitely worth the time and money. The narration and information were good and not too talkative and boring. It was fun and family friendly. The crew was friendly and helpful. At the time we went, masks were required when you were inside the cabins, unless you were eating. You could have a choice of the lunch cruise or the site seeing cruise. The food provided was delicious and the snack bar also had nice options. The prices all were very reasonable too. The tickets were purchased online, and it was easy to book the cruise and order what you wanted to eat if desired.
Paid Parking was close to the dock once you realized where it was, if you are from out of town, so if you get there early you are good. We parked in the lot under the bridge just before the ship. Boarding was easy and they take your photo which they sell to you for only $5, which I wish I had known was that cheap because we would have had one taken. We bypassed it because they are usually so expensive, we do not buy them.
All in all, this was a fun little cruise at a reasonable price.

My husband and I were visiting the area and decided to take the 2 hr scenic, narrated cruise. We arrived 30+ mins prior to departure and had a hard time finding parking…not sure where we were supposed to park but ended up parking under the bridge. We snapped a few photos of the boat and then got in the very short line to board the boat. The employees all seemed very friendly and appeared to enjoy their job. We headed to the top deck and found seats in the shade. Thankfully, it wasn’t very crowded so that made it much more enjoyable. The lady that narrated did a really good job and told about the history of the boat and of Louisville. If you want to hear everything she says, then I recommend you sit on the 2nd floor where she narrates. We were on the top deck and had a hard time hearing her because of people talking. The boat was built in 1914 and is the oldest river steamboat in the world.
The boat offered free water..they also offered all types of soft drinks, mixed drinks, and food. They take your picture as soon as you get on the boat and it’s only $7 to purchase. We really enjoyed the boat tour and would definitely recommend!

Be aware that when you book this cruise, and the day off if they to cancel the cruise, you will only get a voucher for a cruise that expires within 60 days!! I was visiting from 4 hours away, there was no way I was going to make it back to the boat within 60 days. They cancelled the cruise after they let everyone board and start eating the buffet---knowing full well the boat wouldn't sail that day.

I had to basically pitch a fit with them to get a refund and had to call them multiple times afterwards to get my refund. They did not want to give us a refund because they said putting an "I told you so" on the tickets absolved them of having to return my money after not giving me what I paid for. Buyer beware!

Enjoyable trip all-in-all. We booked the picnic lunch cruise. Wish we had just booked the sightseeing version as the box lunch was not worth the extra $13. Best tip: As soon as you're boarded - head to the upper deck immediately to get your best choice of seating under the roofed area. The live music was a nice background for our trip down the river looking at the area on both banks of old and newer development.

My wife and I needed to get out of the house during this pandemic, so we drove to Louisville today to take a Lunch Tour on the Belle of Louisville riverboat. We just got back home. This was a fantastic tour!
We enjoyed a City BBQ meal of either pork or chicken, baked beans, mac & cheese, pickles, brownie and lemonade or water. We paid extra for the meal and it was worth it. There is a concession stand on the boat too.

The boat headed east for an hour, then turned around and headed back to Louisville. There was a band onboard that played old-time music, and they were really good. I highly recommend this tour.

Wanted to experience transportation from way back in the day. Enjoyed the ride immensely. It was a nice laid back experience. Wish there was more to see and more history to be shared, but it is what it is. Staff friendly enough, saw a lot of families touring and locals on board to celebrate special occasions.

With covid and social distancing this is a great thing to do. Your outside and its breezy and cool. They had a celtic band that was wonderful. We did the sunset cruise. They had food if you wanted to do dinner or have snacks at the bar and drinks. The lights at night were beautiful even of we didn't have a sunset it is worth going just to see rhw lights in the bridges and the city. You see homes and the water tower looks especially haunting

We took the Lunch Picnic cruise on the Mary M. Miller and had a most enjoyable time. The cruise goes up the Ohio River and returns for a two-hour trip. The boxed lunch we ordered was plentiful and delicious. A jug band "The Juggernauts" played great, entertaining music throughout the trip. Staff was very helpful and friendly. A little commentary of the sights we were passing would have been helpful. This was a fun trip for us and we highly recommend the lunch cruise.

While I havent visited the Belle, it should be known that there is an older steamboat, that still operates in North America. The beautiful RMS Segwun which was built in 1887, and still operates in the Muskoka, Ontario, Canada area. Older than the Belle of Louisville by 17 years. Just to keep things factual.
