About Belle of Louisville Riverboats
The Belle of Louisville is the oldest operating Mississippi River style steamboat in the world. She and her sister vessel, the Mary M. Miller riverboat offer river cruises perfect for all ages. We offer cruises nearly year-round, and have special events throughout the season. The Mary M. Miller replaced the Spirit of Jefferson in July of 2017. She is named after the First Female Steamboat Captain. The Mary M Miller is not a steamboat but she does have a paddlewheel. She is climate controlled and has 2 indoor decks and a top deck under cover but open air.

With covid and social distancing this is a great thing to do. Your outside and its breezy and cool. They had a celtic band that was wonderful. We did the sunset cruise. They had food if you wanted to do dinner or have snacks at the bar and drinks. The lights at night were beautiful even of we didn't have a sunset it is worth going just to see rhw lights in the bridges and the city. You see homes and the water tower looks especially haunting

While I havent visited the Belle, it should be known that there is an older steamboat, that still operates in North America. The beautiful RMS Segwun which was built in 1887, and still operates in the Muskoka, Ontario, Canada area. Older than the Belle of Louisville by 17 years. Just to keep things factual.

My husband and I took the 2 hour sunset tour and it was a great time. Temperature and bag checks before we got on board and our picture was taken as well. Pictures were $7 a piece and staff brought them around later. Concession stand and bar on board with all the goodies you could possibly need. Fantastic band playing old time tunes could be heard on any of the deck levels. Highly recommend a table at the very front or back of decks 2 or 3. Went an hour east on the Ohio River. Many unique houses to see. A little bit of a narration about the sites and river would be have been nice, but overall a great and relaxing boat ride. Crew was very friendly.

My wife and I needed to get out of the house during this pandemic, so we drove to Louisville today to take a Lunch Tour on the Belle of Louisville riverboat. We just got back home. This was a fantastic tour! We enjoyed a City BBQ meal of either pork or chicken, baked beans, mac & cheese, pickles, brownie and lemonade or water. We paid extra for the meal and it was worth it. There is a concession stand on the boat too. The boat headed east for an hour, then turned around and headed back to Louisville. There was a band onboard that played old-time music, and they were really good. I highly recommend this tour.

These “paddle wheel boats” are used for meal sightseeing cruises on the Ohio River. Both paddle wheel boats were closed for repair when we were there. They are steamed powered and over 100 years old. The cruises allow passenger to see Indiana and Kentucky from the river. The guy in the office was very fun and informative to talk with. He made it good for us.
