No one famous slept there!

It is a nice 1-2 hour stop. Definitely worth the small entrance fee. The 1 hour tour is guided and provides some history on river traffic and the homes/farms which relied on it.

There are picnic tables, a trail which goes into town, & an event space.

Our docent, Patricia, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She had interesting stories and answered any questions we had. The house is in good shape and lovely. We also enjoyed the grounds and gardens.

Hidden gem in south Louisville.

I believe this was the first event presented there since before Covid. I happened to see a plug on Facebook for a Victorian fashion show there and was intrigued. Why not spend an afternoon learning about Victorian fashions and how it related to the Farnsley-Moreman families e we go once lived there? Not only did I learn something new but I was invited to also tour the house along with the other guests. Our docent was quite enthusiastic about the history of the house and property. Most people are more familiar with Farmington and Locust Grove since those are located in the toney east end of Louisville. This site has as much to offer as either of those two plus a scenic view of the Ohio River. Truly this is a bit of a hidden gem.

Best tour in Louisville!!!

A fascinating and beautiful site with scholarly tour guides sharing modern research into the lives of the people who lived there. Be prepared to to have your traditional historical narrative challenged with a deeper understanding of how the past shapes our lives and thinking today.

A very nice old house to go back in time. It has been restored to the grandeur of it's day. I believe there is still some Archaeology digs still going on.

Great visit on Fall Break
Oct 2017 • Family
Great day. Took our two grandsons 9 & 12. There was a high school field trip that day and we joined that group. They had a great time looking for artifacts in an actual archaeology dig, making a brick to take home, and touring the house. It is such a beautiful and peaceful park. Highly recommend this Jefferson County Park to anyone visiting the area.

Great learning outing for adults as well as kids!

Go during the spring or fall and expect to experience stepping back in time. Kids even get to make their own brick from local mined clay. It's right on the river and beautiful!
