Thought the tram should have been in use more. We did pay the extra for it. Never saw it at one of the stops that we waited at. Should have a schedule on when it stops at different spots. Hard when you are on crutches.

The zoo is great for families with young children. Due to the time of year for our visit many attractions were closed however, in the evening there are Halloween festivities for families. So there are pros and cons to visiting after the warmer months when all exhibits are open.

Bought tickets for a train ride and merru go round along with seeing all the animals and sites. The zoo was clean and fun for our grandson. The food was good but pricey as expected in places such as this. The zoo had many areas that did not have animals and it was sad for me to see, I live... More

We go each year. Good value and not scary. Most amimals are not out. This is for kids to dress in costumes and see storybook characters. Pictures with them are no cost. Candy given out throughout the zoo walk. Tradition for us. If you go early October not as busy and some dates cost less. Enjoy!

My children and I have visited several zoos throughout the US. The Louisville zoo is by far one off the best we have visited. It is spread out but do to the number of animals this is a necessity. The gorilla exhibit by far is the best. It gives you the opportunity to be up close and personal. The addition... More

We go a few times a year and always have a blast. They really go out of their way to keep things interesting and come up with new programs and activities. We love the splash park in the summer and Trick or Treating in the fall.

Having lived in the Louisville area all of our lives I can not honestly say that I have not always been the largest fan of The Louisville Zoo in fact I refused to hold a membership there until two years ago. I took out a membership two years ago as a discount offering and for the normal asking price I... More

I love the Zoo but this one was not designed with the elderly or handicapped individual in mind! The walk is too hilly if you want to really want to see the Zoo you can ride the little train but I like to stop and spend some time watching the animals. I am out of breath quickly. I just let... We are "zoo people" and we thoroughly enjoyed our day! The displays are attractive and well kept. The animals appear to be very healthy. The gorillas, bears and elephants were great!! The staff was extremely competent and helpful--particularly the trainers of the elephants. They took time to answer questions and engage the children who had gathered. The African Outpost had... We traveled down to Louisville Zoo for the day and it was great! Gorillas, zebras, giraffes, polar bears, grizzly bears, and camel rides!
