Nice place to visit but lots of construction in the zoo. Not a lot of animals open during the fall. Good day to spend with family

It never hurts when the sky is blue and the sun is bright, but the animals were very active and they have an impressive collection of big animals and a beautiful bear exhibit.

Went here with my Granddaughter recently to help her with the Great-Grandkids. We all had a wonderful time. There are many new things to see & do than the last time I was here over 10 years ago.

Took my granddaughter, soon to be 2, on a crisp fall day. Animals were fairly active and she had a blast. The grounds were well kept and very clean. Awesome day in every way.

Worthwhile today, but once the big construction projects are completed, it will be considerably better. Disappointed that the zoo's most famous exhibit -- the polar bears -- were apparently on vacation in Alaska or the Artic because they were never present at the zoo.

We visited on a Friday when the zoo was on reduced hours setting up for their Halloween event, but we had plenty of time to see all of the exhibits. It was a very cold day and many of the exhibits were closed plus construction...More

For a smaller city, this zoo is impressive. Lots of updates and construction in 2018. Organized by regions and most of the newer exhibits are innovative and give you good views of the animals

It was a cool, small zoo. It has many unique features that I haven't seen at other zoos, such as the out back area. You are up close to many animals though out. When I went they were doing construction, so the layout was a...More

The Louisville Zoo is awesome, they always have things going on and interesting background stories to individualize the animals that live there. Note: their Halloween Trick or Treat Event is also awesome - a one way walk through the Zoo, different areas themed and staffed...More

We went to the zoo in hopes of seeing the polar bears and penguins. We found out after our arrival that they sway the days out (black bears/ polar bears). Disappointed. Just happy that they had giraffes.

No, I have not done the Pygmy Hippo experience. I think under the right circumstances with the right people it would be an interesting experience.

There are several nice hotels to choose from. I personally prefer the east end hotels. You may have to drive a little further but I think you will enjoy your stay. I would not choose a downtown hotel. They are older and... More
