Walked for blocks! Fantastic!

Took our Michigan friends to see this area, they were duly impressed! The fact that people have chosen to live in and maintain these beautiful homes is great!

Take a walk during the day and take a trip back in time to the days of railroad men and a city on the cusp of greatness. There is no other city with more of these homes than Louisville in the country. They are beautiful and majestic and nothing compares.

Old Louisville is a great place to photograph . The old houses are so cool looking . The fall is the best time of year to walk the sidewalks with the trees changing color .

The hubby and I enjoy just strolling through the area. Gorgeous properties and a few places for eats and drinks. A piece of history. Don't forget to wander through Central Park. Shakespeare in the Park is a wonderful relaxing evening affair in the summer months.

I liked walking through Old Louisville. The houses are beautiful and I love comparing and contrasting the differences in the architecture in the older US cities.

Lot's of beautiful older homes in the area. Some are nicely renovated to keep their original flair. Others are falling into disrepair. Narrow streets requires focus while driving through the area so the driver doesn't see as much. There were a couple areas that we wandered into that I would not feel safe at night.

This is one of the largest areas of Victorian architecture in the entire USA. What luxury and elegance. What craftsmanship.

The area is absolutely gorgeous and hidden in the houses in Central Park, which they often do "Shakespeare in the Park" shows. I personally don't know the historical significance, but it is a beautiful area to walk around in. As a local, who also attends the University of Louisville, I suggest not going more West than 4th street or being... More

We drove thru this area a couple of times on our weekend in Louisville. The buildings are just beautiful. Most have been maintained very well. We just didn't have the time to talk a detailed walking tour as was recommended at the visitor Center. Wish we could have with a local guide as I am sure there are many, many... More

What a lovely area to both drive around and get out to walk, which we did! Missed the visitor center along with their information or guided tours, but still enjoyed a couple hours in the neighborhood on a beautiful fall day!
