Old Louisville Ghost Tour as Recommended by The New York Times

Tours daily from March 15 through November 15; limited dates in the off-season!

The fascinating historic district known as Old Louisville has gained national exposure because of its impressive Victorian mansions and quirky residents. Developed in the 1880s and 1890s, it attracted the Derby City's bourbon barons, racetrack royalty, and titans of tobacco. This narrated walk is based on books by storyteller David Dominé, who often shows up to guide groups himself. The tales shared involve personal experiences and neighborhood gossip. The New York Times recommends a tour with him as the first thing not to miss during a visitor's "36 Hours in Louisville."

Specializing in "America's Most Haunted Neighborhood," we depart from the corner of Fourth and Ormsby, at the transitional edge of the neighborhood. If you love old architecture and spooky history, this is the tour for you! If you do not like an up-and-coming neighborhood with a diverse racial make up, this tour is not for you!

We depart from the transitional edge of the neighborhood. If you love old houses, this is the tour for you! If you do not like an up-and-coming neighborhood with a diverse racial make up, please stay home.

A ghostly historical tour through Old Louisville was eerily delightful!! The houses are beautiful and HUGE, the stories are enjoyable. No ghosts were spotted on the evening we went. There is lots of walking, but the area was gorgeous. No restrooms, so take care if that need before you get there!!

I have been wanting to go on one of David’s tours ever since I read his first book. We took the whole family and could not have been more pleased! David knows all about the history and haunts of Old Louisville. Now I want to go on his architectural tour.

The tour guide has taught at the unversity and authored numerous books about Louisville's past. While strolling through these neighborhoods I learned a lot about the history, commerce, politics, and cultural development of the area. I had stereotypical ideas about Kentucky in general and was surprised at how interesting and diverse a place Louisville is.
